As one gets older they have tried many paths and found them not to have helped much.
Eventually the idea that happiness can be found externally starts to seem unlikely.
At this point one often turns to the only remaining place they have not looked.
Within.

I was a seeker from youth but seeking in the wrong places.
By age 27, I began to study the bible to learn that either this book was to be learned and believed or discard it for religion.
I have been clinging to the book.
I knew I could not learn it if I could not put each person in his time and place.
Example:
Abraham was 2008 to 2083 to 2183 after Adam was created in day six.
Abraham was 0352 to 0427 to 0527 after the flood.
Abraham was 2058 to 1983 to 1883 before Christ.
2Tim.2:15;
Rightly divide applies to me when I study.
Now is it sad, 10 people can study this and get 10 different answers, WHAT IS ANY ONE SUPPOSED TO MAKE OF THAT?

people go on spiritual quests at different ages, some go as early as four (Ive heard of that) and some as late as 70 but the older you get the less likely you are to search because, after a certain age you assume to have more answers than you did when you were younger.

Well..
From my perspective.....
My affiliation with the Christian god ended when I was 12 or so, with the Death of my Grandmother.....
I was then an "extreme atheist" for some 25 years.
Then, my wife died, and it occurred to me that although there still was no God, that there was "something" besides organic decay to the death process.
I went briefly mad, I think, and, came out a Buddhist.
So, I think overall, one must consider that experiencing death up-close and personal makes one re-evaluate one's position on religion to some degree.
At some point in time, we all must make our "peace" with death as well, or it continues to frighten us indefinitely. Since that is silly, it is best to do this in some practical way. Religion is a good way for some of us.
Namaste, and Happy Holidays,
--Tom

I don't consider looking for a religion to identify with as a spiritual quest. Spiritual seeking means seeking understanding, wisdom and peace from within. As human's grow older they generally become more introspective, self-controlled and transpersonal in their attitudes; thus my answer to your question is yes.

(John 6:44) No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.
AND........
(Isaiah 55:6-to-11) Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
(Isa 55:7) Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
(Isa 55:8) For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
(Isa 55:9) For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
(Isa 55:10) For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:
(Isa 55:11) So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
Thanks, RR

Probably. As we grow older and understand more, we realize there is a Creator and He is God. Now whether you accept this or not is entirely up to the individual. But the Truth is there for any and everyone to see.

I think that as more and more of our friends and loved ones face eternity we revisit this eternal question and seek the truth.
No one wants to face an eternity of nothingness or eternal fire.
