I have been on this site once or twice before, but it was so mean spirited and hateful that I swore I would never come back.
It does seem that some people get filthy in their language when defending their point. I am not attacking non believers, they were just raised differently than i was.

Because this is the category for the most interesting conversation. I have noticed that there are a lot of people interested in what and why Atheists and Agnostics think like they do. If Answers had an Atheist /Agnostic site Xtians would be on it too. We are all curious

We serve as a reminder that not everyone follows your religion.
And aside from that, most of us don't mind honestly answering questions. Some of us, like myself, are formerly religious and can answer questions, and then there are the questions targeted at atheists. And more to the point all the cool philosophical questions get posted in here and I whip out some argument to put my side forward.
edit:
----
Tracy: Yes, interested, that does'nt mean we necessarily believe. As far as i'm concerned, religion is nothing but something to discuss over dinner, I'm not godfearing, I don't need false sustenance, I just happen to enjoy debating philosophy, and there's a lot of it in here.
And to that idiot above who decided that every atheist is here to s**t on your beliefs, grow up. If you think this section gets hate, pop into LGBT and your eyes will be opened.
edit----
Just R: It's platonist or platonic, not platoist. And you could have worded that much better.I don't think you know the first thing about Plato tbqh.

properly, come on over and get to be attentive to our fearless team of regulars and you will quickly see why. As between the "hateful fundamentalists" i can permit you be attentive to that the Atheists shop us Fundies on our feet. it somewhat is in all threat between the main distinctive boards on the Yahoo solutions team. the only reason i'm happy for the atheists at right this is that they help us to be sure the different area of the coin, on the thank you to talk. As a Christian, the Atheists help us to understand why they do no longer trust particular themes. I especially like people who're respectful of the variations and don't attempt to insult human beings of religion. dangle around right here for a whilst and you will study lots from human beings of all walks. yet be arranged, that often human beings use irony or sarcasm of their solutions, plus we've a number of video games as long because of the fact the Yamster keeps blissfully ignorant. desire you savour a while at right here.

Belief in god is not equal to spirituality. My friend is a devout zen buddhist and he's very spiritual. He's also an atheist. Most people who have advanced up the ladder of spiritual growth realize that spirituality is not dependent on theistic beliefs, especially the self-centered ones that posit a theistic being that rewards and punishes.

Because people like you ask questions like this - "If the whole world became atheist there still be killing, murder and war?"
And THIS -
" I think the atheists and non-believers are really interested in religion they just don't want to admit it.
Source(s):
Being a Christian"
- is a FREAKING riot!!!
Do you use being a Christian as your source for your understanding of quantum physics too?
ROFPMPLMAO!!!
This place is great for the entertainment value alone!

As long as Christianity, as well as several of the other "ultimate truths", have as their end and gleefully sought after goal, the END OF THE WORLD, and as long as they believe that their rights are being violated if they are denied the opportunity to use the coercive power of the state to shove their god down every ones throat, you will have to put up with us being in your face. Why should we abandon a forum where we can let you know that you will not be allowed to carry out the silly "End Times" rubbish that you seem to forget would include the rest of us.

You people do realize that atheists may not believe in the common God but they do believe in some god or many gods or no gods at all. Atheists think religion is a crock, which it is. It's a form of entertainment to look at all the bible beaters horse hockeying their bull crap around.

I am amazed that there are so many believers who ask the same couple of questions. This one has been asked over and over again.
Most of them throw in some gratuitous slur against atheists, usually something like "they secretly believe in god", from believers who obviously don't have much faith (why else would they have such a desperate need to deny the existence of nonbelievers?).
Thank you for not saying anything idiotic like that.

We were here all along. You meet us, work with us, every day of your life. I guess you would be able to notice that you are not alone if we all grew tails and wore horns. Oh Well. Take another look around and see how empty the Churches are getting to be.
