War, by its very nature, is unethical.

You should make sure that you are aiming at the enemies military targets. Any means of transportation or porduction is a military target.

You should not intentionally target civilians, but large weapons will have considerable collateral damage and that is OK. Part of winning a war involves convincing the population that they don't want to fight. (This is what we left out in Iraq, we knew where the problems were going to be and left them stand.)

You should treat enemy prisoners fairly humanely. Mostly because you want to encourage more so quit.

That is about all. War sucks. It should suck, otherwise there is no reason to get it over with. All the liberal attempts to make it not suck only make it take forever and the result is what you see in the Middle East, a war that just goes on and on at a very low scale and no one ever wins, so everyone keeps losing.

WELL.......

In Islam, we have a code of ethics while at war that is NOT to be compared to the Geneva protocols for human rights , as prophet Muhammad says to the worriors :

Do NOT cut a tree , Do NOT destroy a house, Do NOT killl or torture Priests , Rabbies or any men of religion, Do NOT kill, torture or rap a woman, Do NOT kill a civilian , Do NOT kill or torture an old man , Do NOT ruin or mess with Churchus or any house of religion, Do NOT attack at night so not to scare children

shdtt Masha'Allaah good answer with a perfect Hadith.....
Heres another....

Once, when news reached the Prophet that child had been killed in a battle, he exclaimed: ‘What is with some people that the killing today caused them to go so far as to kill children?!’ Someone answered: ‘O Messenger of Allaah! They are but children of polytheist!’ The Prophet replied: ‘Nay! Verily, the best of you are children of polytheist. Do not kill children! (I say again) do not kill children! For every soul is born upon a natural (Islamic) deposition (innocent, monotheistic and good) – until its tongue speaks on its behalf…’ (Ahmad). Also , when the Prophet once passed a fallen idolatress, he denounced her killing, insisting that the woman was not one against whom war was to be fought.

In fact, there exists in Islam a great library of texts clearly forbidding murder whilst extolling the sanctity of human life, ‘life, which Allaah has made sacred’ (Qur’aan 6:151); from the Prophet Muhammad’s dire warning that :’There first cases to be adjudicated against on the Day of Judgement will be those of bloodshed.’ (Bukhari), to his strikingly stark threat that: ‘Whosoever kills one (non-muslim) under contract (of Muslim protection) will never smell the scent of Paradise.’ (Ibn Majah)

“We ordained for the Children of Israel that if anyone killed a person not in retaliation for murder or for villainy in the land, it would be as if they the whole of humanity. And if anyone saved a life, it would be as if they saved the whole of humanity.” (Qur’aan 5:32)

Islaam is a religion of peace, that does not involve in bombings, terrorism, suicides or anything else. In Islaam everything is done with a wisdom behind it. And thats something you don't know

Terrorism is not part of Islaam, niether is Scuicide- which is not allowed. Heres something that I prepared for this matter

pray to allah for all. help and heal. reveal the truth. patience and calm.
One of the ten commandments for us all not just muslims is thou shall not kill. we cannot hurt our bodies, let alone bomb ourselves and others. suicide is totally forbidden.

the Sheas have mislead the whole world. Sheas are the only "muslims" who believe in hurting thier bodies and crying ya ali. they celebrate this special day too. but they have misplead the meaning of martyr. suicide bombers are NOT martyrs.

a martyr is one who is killed/murdered beacuse he is muslim.pray for peace and understanding.

may i kandly ask what non athics should observe during war?

no undue suffering...humane treatment of combatants, no torture (I'm a supporter of Bush but I'm really at odds with him on this one...the argument is always "but what if saves lives"...bullsh*t, no torture...we're better then that), and no weapons of any sort that may lay dormant for years and cost suffering to non-combatants in the future (like land mines of chemicals)
