Yes, I had the same problem with Limewire. I think their web servers (the machines that store peer-to-peer file-shared stuff) are down.

Why not try http://www.usenext.com ? Or else you can try the bittorent.com file-sharing software but the down side is, you may accidentally get trojans knowing that some other peoples computers may not be viru-free) and downloadng is often slow.

What I know about limewire is that, it's full of spyware and tracking software that record your keystrokes then send it back to their own website.
this is just one of the nasty infections hiding in limewire

limewire is the best file sharing software i have come across so far. try reinstalling it, or perhaps you have an old version that needs updating
