Hi, I have a sky hd box which has only one HDMI ouput. This work great with the tv next to the sky box. Now i have just installed a hd projector in the kids room and run another hdmi cable back to the sky box. I bought a 1 to 2 way splitter off ebay (£29), but when both hdmi cables are conected to it a message pops up saying "THIS DISPLAY DOES NOT SUPPORT HDCP". and i can not veiw any picture. If i unplug just 1 hdmi cable it works fine. So i can only have one or the other running, not both. How can i get around this.
Thanks

Sorry, I have tried using the RGB for the closest screen and hdmi for the far screen (10m). Problem here is when i turn off the far screen the message pops up on the other RGB screen. So it look like if anything is plugged into the HDMI port, it needs to be switched on for sky to check its security key and display a picture.

You WON'T USING HDMI.....that HDCP is a built-in anti-recording feature that HDMI (and DVI) have built into the Data Stream....it doesn't like the fact you have TWO UNITS reading the DATA.....if you have a recorder....IT WILL KNOW it's a Recorder!!!

Best thing to do......HDMI to the CLOSEST TV.
Use the Component OR Composite connections on your box to the TV farther away....and I hope it's less than 30 feet

Any further and BAD Video Degradation will be seen......What do you expect with 6 MHz signal down a long wire....inductance will whack the hi-frequencies off the signal.....

some TVs won't help 1080p by an element cable, yet for those which will, those are the resolutions which you're able to get out of your PS3 with ingredient: Gaming: 1080p, it quite is that if the interest is designed to pass that top. Blu-ray: 1080i. DVD: 480p, because of the fact upconversion isn't allowed over ingredient connections. Your television will upconvert the 480p photograph to the community decision of the television, it are in a position to try this besides because of the fact the PS3 if it has high quality scaling hardware. HDMI would not have those decision limits, and you gets a cable for a lots cheap online.

You simply need a DVI or HDMI distribution AMP. These devices allow you to distribute one signal to multiple displays. They are very expensive though. SOme manufacturer's include Gefen, Audio Authority etc. Do some searches.

The splitter probably works but the display/projector or maybe the splitter itself has got HDCP protection, and will not display the HDMI signal.
