The primary growth in the observance has taken place in just the last 200 years, according to a program on the History Channel, right now. Most every religion, or country, where Christians have lived in great numbers, has banned it at one time or another. How do you know that ancient Christians "never celebrated" Christmas?

From 90 AD until 313 AD, Christianity was highly illegal which is why so many were persecuted. Most Christians worshipped in secret during those years. Its also why there are precious few Christian writings from that time-frame.

As a legalized holiday in this country (which has also become highly commercialized), that only came about in the 1870's....I think in 1870 itself.

“Christianity of the first centuries did not know the celebration of Christmas. . . . From the middle of the fourth century, Christianity assimilated the celebration of the winter solstice from the worship of Mithra, turning it into the Christmas celebration. The first to celebrate Christmas were the religious communities of Rome. In the tenth century, Christmas, along with Christianity, spread to Russia, where it became fused with the winter celebration of the ancient Slavs, honoring the spirits of the ancestors.”

no longer something provides any Christian the main concepts-blowing to sentence human beings yet sin is an open e book. we are cautioned to no longer choose human beings yet we optimistic can study the fruit produced by employing human beings. God condemns sin and homosexuality is in his eyes a sin so we Christians have confidence his judgment and shop on with greater healthful. even nonetheless, God loves the sinner to the factor he gives you his son's sacrifice to pay on your sins--conditional of path. God additionally condemns reasons and movements. while you waste some time fussing with Christians over you sins why no longer communicate them with the only that does choose. God has made his place very sparkling--yet you could extremely condemn adult men for being in simple terms human extremely than God for in simple terms being righteous.
