Well, so long as its not green and fluffy, then it probably just smells like that, they all do.
Wash it is the simple answer. Stand it with the neck opening in the bottom of the sink and fill it with cold water. give it a bit of a stir with your hand, then empty it out and cook it as normal.

Pour some boiling water into it from the kettle. Two should do. Then some people rub salt into the inside after they dry it out. However the smell wont be a problem when the turkey is cooked.

happy Thanksgiving!, I constantly cook dinner the turkey with the stuffing put in basically in the previous placed interior the oven, I carve the whole turkey and place in storage bags, and save my left over stuffing/dressing one after the different, over 30 years , no prob

ours smells too, i've cooked turkey roast dinners recently a couple of times & they've never smelt. Turkey been cooking for 2hrs & has 1hr30 left so I'll decide what to do once its cooked!! We have chicken fillets on standby!

how did you thaw it out?? if at room temp. i would not eat it...
if it was bad from the store take it back..
a doctor bill is more then the turkey....go have peanut and butter sandwich or something health and simply....
if you want to gamble... wash it out well and cook it very well..

ok sunshine im a chef, its gonna be fine, thats where curry originates from, when the chicken was going a bit rank they bunged loads of spices on it to hide the taste, enjoy
