I dunno. Hitler burned people. I guess it was all thought up to keep people straight. I mean if you thought this guy would burn you if you did something bad, wouldn't you want to be good?

I've found that the best way to get thoughts to come to the surface is to ask questions, so here goes. By the way, I'm a christian so that should tell you something from the start.
Does believing in hell mean the same thing as being happy that there is a hell?
Would people fly off into space if they began to believe that gravity isn't real?
Should I stop believing what I believe because other people don't believe it?
If I know that you will hate me for it, should I tell you the truth anyway?
Would you allow bad to happen to you so that good could happen to someone else?
If you really want an answer to your question you'll find it!

Hmmm, I find this a very strange question coming from an athiest. First of all you are very confused, more than that you are trying to take a topic and sound intelligent with what you thought to be a great analogy when it is so far off in left field it just shows ignorance instead.
I wish you could meet the Christians I know or the ones I see in different churches. There is so much love that it radiates and glows from them, their eyes, their face, their tone of voice. I want to be like that. Just like in any race, there are good people and bad people, hey, that even holds with a vegetable group! I hate lima beans, but I love carrots. So yes, there are bad Christians, they may still have a lot of work to do in their walk with the Lord, or they are not giving a full surrender to the Lord, and there are a lot of people who say they are Christians but they're not.
Most of what you wrote makes no sense, I don't understand what you mean that God gives us the right to burn by proxy.
God did not create hell for people. He created it to cast Satan out of heaven and into a pit of fire. Whether you believe in God or not, whether you believe that He created you or not, whether you believe there is a heaven or hell, it doesn't really matter. Except your soul will go to hell if you have not accepted Christ.
What are you saying, burning people is yucky? Of course it is! Christians don't burn people, nor does God help us burn them by proxy, nor does the Almighty God burn people for that matter. I'm sorry you don't like the answer that it's your choice about going to hell or not, there is no other answer.
Besides, you're dead when you go to hell, thus, your analogy of pouring petrol on a group of people is incorrect and far fetched from what a Christian will say hell is all about. You need not worry, a person does not go to hell while they are alive. But then, as an athiest what are you worried about?
If you want to blame God for your consequence of where you will spend eternity, remember this, He created you, He does not view life as we do, even though He loves you more than any human being will ever be able to love you - even more than your mom, or a husband.
In fact, God knows right at this moment whether you will accept Christ before you die or not. If the answer is no, He's already grieved for your soul and has moved on, because you were given your chances. Or perhaps, you still have a chance(s) left, only God knows this. God gives every single person in this world a chance to accept His son, Jesus Christ and you could die today.
I once claimed I was an athiest and I believed hell was right here on earth. I'm so glad I know otherwise, and I am so very glad that I was given another chance. . There was no brainwashing done, I didn't even go to church for 7 months after I got on my knees and surrendered my life to Christ.
A minister at a good Bible speaking church does not expect the people to take his word alone on what he preaches. A true Christian has the resources to validate whether he speaks from truth or not.
Truly, I'm perplexed as to why you get so upset about Christians' belief in a hell that has a fire hotter and greater than petrol or any kind of fire mere humans could create. Hell comes after you die, and as an athiest, you don't believe in hell, so you have nothing to worry about, or do you?
Remember this, there can only be one truth, either there is a God or there isn't, either there is a heaven and a hell or there isn't, either Jesus Christ is God's Son or He isn't and so forth.
What about this, if I'm wrong, I've lost nothing when I die, however, if I'm right, then what have you lost when you die?
I think I like my odds a whole lot better than yours. You have a 50/50 chance of spending eternity in hell. I have a 50/50 chance of spending eternity in heaven.
God's word says, EVERY knee will bow and Every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.
That means you can go thru life not believing, but when you take your last breath, YOU WILL bow and confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. Whether you believe you'll do this or not, you will do it and you will believe because you will be standing before Him.
I pray that God will bless your life abundantly.

Suppose you had a very serious illness, and you went to the doctor and asked him to treat it. Then suppose he gave you a prescription that would cure your illness—but you refused to take it. Who would be to blame if you failed to get better—the doctor, or you? I think you know the answer.
In the same way, the whole human race has a very serious spiritual "illness." It is a disease of our souls that the Bible calls sin. It is so serious, in fact, that it has put us on the road to eternal separation from God—which is what the Bible calls hell.
But listen: God loves us—and because He loves us, He has provided the remedy for our spiritual disease. The remedy is Jesus Christ, who took the punishment we deserve when He died on the cross for us. This is why the Bible says, "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 6:23). Yes—salvation is a free gift!
But what if we refuse it? What if we fail to accept the remedy God has provided? Who, then, is to blame if we continue on the road away from God? The answer is clear: We are. In other words, God doesn't send us to hell; we send ourselves. Don't gamble with your soul, but by faith accept Christ so you can know—beyond doubt—that you will go to be with Him in heaven forever.

Eh... ok.
That depends on who you talk to I suppose. I don't think of people as "burning" simply because they are aethiest or what not... (I'm agnostic... so that may be why)
I do think that many may call you rude because you are a little too upfront with what you say, yet it is all done in an unclear way? I mean, honestly... patrol? Do you mean petrol (fuel)? And God wouldn't need a match... or fuel for that matter.
And in Christians eyes (I know, I used to be Catholic) it isn't really God that sets you ablaze... it is the choices made through your own life that determine that fate. Of course, in the end... not a single one of us knows if heaven, hell... or anywhere else is our destination after death... and to dwell on the subject during life seems a bit of a moot point.

Wow. What a lovely diatribe.
Anyway, a) God doesn't send people to Hell, they send themselves there; b) not all Christians believe in Hell; and c) not all Christians believe the fire in Hell is literal.
Your assumptions about Christians show that you are just as bigoted as the people you accuse. Don't lump all of us together and pretend we are all ignorant.

Is a father wrong for punishing a child. Even after repeated warnings for something better, something much better.
If someone is burnt it's because they were given a choice and ignored it. God bless you and draw you to Himself.
Please don't be stubborn. God is not willing that any should perish.

It is wrong and immature for ANYONE to burn someone. I think they push you farther from having faith in, or understanding God!
