And please tell me what language is it?
I find it written in a piece of old paper in the warehouse behind a church:

Gesù cade la prima, sotto la croce.

There is a word after the "prima", but I can`t read it....

Thanks, and Merry Christmas

I would bet the whole sentence would be:
"Gesu cade la prima 'volta', sotto la croce"

This is Italian and means:
Jesus fell for the first time, under the cross

I'm not sure it's appropriate to get this far ahead at the time Christians celebrate the Child's birth, but anyway....

Takes all kinds. Merry Christmas

This is Italian. It sounds like the words may come from a description of the 'stations of the cross', which has to do with the procession to his crucifiction. If that is the case, the missing word is probably a number in Italian.

Here is a translation of the words you listed:

Jesus falls before, under the cross.

Try babelfish (see below) and you may be able to identify the missing word by translating "first", "second", etc. from English to Italian, and comparing the results to what you found written.

If the word is luago, (first), then this is about the first time he fell under the cross, which is the 3rd station of the cross.

It`s Italian.
Gesu` = Jesus
cade(re) = to fall
