I recently checked out puppie prices in So. Cal. I have been a member of Cairn Terrier Club of So. Cal and only would buy from breeders recognized by the Cairn Terrier Clubs of America. I have had two Cairns of my own, have done extensive reading about the breed. There are several good books available written about Cairns by well known experts...check them out.
As of October, the prices ranged from 1200-1500 via the most reputable breeders, those who have significant numbers of champion dogs in their breeding lines.
Of course, if you just use a web search, you can find pups for 400 or so, but I would be very wary of such dogs.
The Cairn Terrier clubs seek to maintain the highest quality for this special breed. If you choose to go with a lesser quality dog, at least do the right thing and have the dog spayed or neutered and by all means, never breed it.

First of all, don't get one from a pet store. These dogs are almost exclusively puppy mill dogs and will likely have health or genetic problems down the line. If you're positive that a Cairn is what you want, look for a good breeder. Someone posted the link for the Cairn club in another answer. I'm getting a Cairn this summer and I'm paying $850, which is a good deal for a purebred dog from a good breeder.

From a quality breeder will cost about 600 to 800 dollars U.S. they are delightfull adorable dogs and i had one for 11 years before she passed on . If you let it can become the best and faithfull friend you will have for many years to come . Merry christmas and a very joyous new year.

I saw an ad recently in our local paper from a breeder for $800. They are the cutest little things!

About 10,000 dollars US for a good one. If you pay less, you'll get a worthless dog that Eats it's own Crap then licks you in the face.
