Your TV should be capable of displaying 1080i because 1080i is only 540 vertical lines, and your TV can display up to 768 lines. So, no problem.

To connect the HDMI from TV to PS3, just plug one end of the HDMI cable to the PS3 and the other end to the TV. Make sure you have the 1.3 HDMI or otherwise, you might not see anything when you're using the PS3.

Connect the other devices the same way. They must have an HDMI output or else you'll have to use whatever they have for output. You need an upconvert DVD player if you want to use HDMI. If you have a regular DVD player, then you can use the Yellow, Red, White plugs.

I have the exact same HDTV but don't have a PS3 (yet) Since it has two HDMI connectors on the back I assume you would pick one for the PS3 and the other for your DVD player. If your present DVD player does not have an HDMI output you will have to do what I did ...pick up a new upconverting DVD player with HDMI. I also know that you will also have to go to the video setup for each HDMI input and set it up properly.

BTW I would strongly recommend you NOT buy your HDMI cables from anywhere that wants to charge you $100 for them. (wal mart sells em for around $38 and you can get them even cheaper from ebay)

That might work. not sure if your tv has audio out. You can use the PS3 component cable: 3 video cables connected to your TV and 2 audio cables connected to the receiver.
