Couch,sofa,divan,davenport, These are all the same thing ,are they not.?

Is the difference, what part of the country your from, like soda, pop, and sodapop?

All the same thing. Older folks seem to use "divan and davenport". Typically couch or sofa is used. I sold furniture for years and we called it "sofa"...sounds more refined than couch.
