Using HDMI cable for connecting PS3, home theater, dvd player to my Panasonic 42?

I would like to connect ps3, home theater, dvd player to my tv using HDMI. I dont know my tv supports 1080i or not.
IF yes, how can I connect to ps3.
IF no, how can I connect to ps3.

What the hell. Let's see if I can kill 2 birds with 1 stone.

Your TV should be capable of displaying 1080i because 1080i is only 540 vertical lines, and your TV can display up to 768 lines. So, no problem.

To connect the HDMI from TV to PS3, just plug one end of the HDMI cable to the PS3 and the other end to the TV. Make sure you have the 1.3 HDMI or otherwise, you might not see anything when you're using the PS3.

Connect the other devices the same way. They must have an HDMI output or else you'll have to use whatever they have for output. You need an upconvert DVD player if you want to use HDMI. If you have a regular DVD player, then you can use the Yellow, Red, White plugs.

Home theater? Are you talking about surround sound? Too many different scenarios. But I'll use my configuration as an example. If you're like me, you probably have a HD cable box. So connect one end of the HDMI cable to the TV and the other end to the HD cable box. If your cable box has DVI output, then you need the HDMI to DVI converter. You can probably figure out the plug scheme. If you have a receiver, then you need to plug the audio cables from the HD cable box to the audio plugs on your receiver. If the HD cable box offer optical audio output, use that so that it's just 1 audio cable running from cable box to receiver. So plug one end of the optical cable to the optical slot on the cable box, and the other end to the optical slot on your receiver. Now, you just need to configure your receiver to receive 5.1, 7.1 surround sound or whatever you're using.
