i am in Nd where the norwegans live on liefse....i would use the half and half it just will be a little low calorie....if you use the evap milk mix it half and half with milk...none of these will hurt your end result .......merry xmas...

I recommend substituting the straight cream for half and half. Since half and half is a mixture of milk and cream, your recipe should cook a little lighter, but not enough to make a difference in taste. As for condensed or evaporated milk, you can use those, but I don't believe you will get the results you want in your recipe.

you can use evaporated milk but not sweetened condensed milk. There is a difference. My pumpkin pie recipe calls for evaporated milk. Evaporated and condensed are 2 different products, not interchangable.

I don't know about the other choices, but the condenced milk one will definitely not work. It is very sweet and mostly used for sweets and cakes, etc.

condensed is sweet evaporated milk is the regular milk consistency but half and half is creamier also maybe buttermilk what exactly are u making
