Has anyone ever corresponded via email for awhile and felt like there was a LOT of chemistry between you and the other person?...then you finally met them, and their personality really matched up w/their expressions/writings?
Or was their personality totally different than you expected?

No. They were all busts. They are all fatter and older than they said they were.

When I was 19 I met a guy online. He was 20. He came to my town (traveling through by coincidence for other stuff). (He was from the East, me the Midwest at the time). He was what I expected in person...his personality matched his emails and instant messaging style. We met in person, hit it off, and continued talking via phone and online. We started to really like each other, had a lot of similar goals and interests, and for the next year and a half following we took turns flying out to see each other during school breaks (we were both in college). It was a lot of fun while it lasted, but ultimately we couldn't handle the distance and we grew apart. I think our age had a lot to do with it too. Maybe if we were a little older and a little more mature at the time it could have worked. He was a great, great person, not a weird, crazy person at all, and there are days I miss him intensely. Would I ever meet another person online? I don't know...I had good luck with this guy and I don't know if I'd want to chance it again as I've heard of several bad stories. I think you'll know in your heart of hearts if this person is genuine and real. Just BE CAREFUL! I had some friends with me the first time I met this guy. And good luck! I hope you find love.

Oh, and by the way, my mom met a guy online who was a major con artist with a gambling problem and he swindled her out of more than 16k over 2 years. There are crazies out there as I'm sure you know!

I met with a few of the connections I'd met online, most of them were unlike what they claimed to be.

Then I was browsing through the yahoo personals one evening and I came across this guy that was just phenomonal. I sent him a message. He replied back, we emailed one another and even spent some time chatting online. I took it upon myself to ask him out the very same night ! He agreed and we have been dating each other since and its now been 15 mos. We are so right for one another, we have many things in common, and share everything.

I have yahoo to thank for our meeting because if I hadn't been bored the evening I was browsing I never would have found the one man that is indeed my dream come true !

i've got surely met my final 2 authentic loves on the internet (neither of which i became surely searching for even to this point). They have been the two mindblowing reviews and am surely greatful for such an device because of the fact the internet is to permit me those to take place. One lived in Germany and one surpassed off to be from my domicile city - in case you're able to have faith that. i'm nonetheless with him immediately (met 4 yrs in the past). My perception is why shrink your self to easily your city or basically your state once you have the entire international actually at your finger suggestion? basically becare whilst speaking to those human beings cuz there are a number of psychos. Be arranged to invite the difficult questions and be somewhat open and uncomplicated from the beginning up. some human beings never locate love in any respect, why no longer boost your possibilties?

lol... funny that you mention that! :)

I actually met my current girlfriend on MySpace back in June... I usually don't add people that I don't know, but she looked incredibly familiar, so I added her to my friends list...

I asked her where I might have known her from, and she said that i looked incredibly familiar also, but she couldnt pinpoint where she knew me from...

anyways, we started e-mailing like every day after that, and we slowly, but surely started becoming closer... she went on vacation with her family towards the middle of July, and we agreed we'd finally meet when she returned home after that week... she missed mailing me so bad while she was gone, she actually rented an internet cable at the resport they were at so she could talk back and forth with me! :)

when she got back it was a wednesday, we planned on hanging out Friday night because I had to go the gym thrusday night, which she said was fine with her because she had to go the gym also... so I get to the gym Thursday night, and who do I see there??! She was a member at my gym all along, and we had never actually ran into each other!

Anyways, we hung out the friday night... went to a little Italian restaurant I like to frequent, and went to the drive-in movies... the whole night was amazing, and we clicked so incredibly well... we've been hanging out almost every day since then, and she's currently the love of my life! so I'd have to say, there IS something to be said for meeting people online... :)

Merry Christmas!

truth be told i felt really like i could love this person. we let our mind fill in all the blanks while they aren't there to do that. we talked for close to a year then met. not the same at all. super nice guy but it was like meeting him for the first time. nothing clicked. kind of scared me away from believing. sad but true.

It haven't happened to me but i think those things could come true. don't fall too head over heals for that person because you know that things may be fine the first couple of months and then that person has a change of heart. so just becareful.

People on the Net could be anything but what they seem, even if they seem nice.
