I have this Cat, I love her to bits, she is about 9 and she likes to sit on my shoulders. I am just wondering if anyone knows why she likes to do that ??? She's doing it now so I thought Id ask why...

That is so awesome! One of my co-workers cats that she brings to our office loves to ride and straddle people's shoulders too. I guess it's because they really want to feel close to people and see everything that they are doing close up and when they are walking they get a birds eye view of the world too.

cute. as someone else said, cats like to be high up so they can see what's going on. maybe she sees you as a piece of furniture. my cat likes to sit on things. she sat on my old digital clock all the time. when she was a kitten, i could walk around with her sitting on my hand. her daughter liked to climb the christmas tree her first christmas. she even went to sleep in it.
i'm glad my sisters 9yo cat doesn't try to sit on my shoulder. she's a big cat. now *she* is wierd. she is currently sleeping on my sisters slipper. sorry i went off topic.

Our cat just likes to sit !!! She sits in one spot for hours sometimes, but she is a princess and her kingdom needs to be watched over after all.

awwww... I think that's awesome! Wish one of my cats would do that... but maybe my shoulders aren't wide enough for a cat to perch on.

Partly because she likes to be with you. And also cats like to be up high so that they can look at their kingdom. Every thing she can see is hers. They also like warmth. And u are both.

That is so cool, I am jealous. It is just because you trained her that way. I have one that will let me carry him like a baby, on its back.

She likes to be close to you. It gets your attention...cat's are smart.
