Over the years I have owner tons of different breeds of dogs, and although I loved the dog I never fell inlove with a breed until I met and then got my first Labrador Retriever. They are the greatest and now I would never be without one. They are the most loving, affectionate, loyal, devoted, intelligent, and versatile dog. They are easy to train and love everyone and everything. My Lab plays everything possible with my nephews, he swimms with them, goes sledding and hiking and keeps them busy all day long. I was extremely impressed how quite and gentle my Lab gets around my 92 year old grandpa. Usually my Lab is playful (he is only a 1 1/2 years) but around my grandpa he is very genle attentive. He has always been like that. When I got him my brother was dying and every morning that 7 week old puppy who crawl up on the wheelchair next to my brother's bed and sit there to give my brother attention. They just have an extra sense and adjust to suite your needs and feelings. I could never say enough good things about them.
