No. The Roman Catholic church does not have a monopoly on Pedophiles. There are just as many in other churches too. The reason you hear more about it in the RC church is because it is a more centrally organized church. The same things go on in other churches too. I personally know about a case where 2 ministers in a 'bible based' church molested about 40 children and went to trial and got off. I know that they were guilty, because I worked in Mental Health at the time and interviewed the victims. The worst part was the way the children were threatened. It was not just that their family would be killed, but that their family would die and go to hell, and that it would be the child's fault because they told. To me that is THE unforgivable sin to misrepresent God in such a way, and to a young child. Those men deserve to rot in hell. And they are still out there somewhere in another church doing the same things.

There are sickos in all walks of life. Just because some Catholic Priest have committed some horrible crimes does not mean that the Pope or all Catholics should be held accountable. When A man accepts Christ as his savior he is not immune to sin. He still has free will to do as he chooses! But all mistakes have consequenses.

The scandals you are referring to are not the actions of the Church. They are the actions of certain priests. Since the priests don't have much money, the lawyers go after church property.
For the pope to speak out against these criminal acts is hardly hypocritical.

yes, emphatically, I believe the problems with the Catholic Church goes back to the days of Constantine. Pope Gregory had naked little boys popping out of a cake at his Pope party Exscuse uoi tonks_ops, how many priests, bishops and popes have had a trial AT ALL??????the evidence gets sent to Rome so NO ONE IS EVEN BROUGHT UP ON CHARGES, so you don't know what you're talking about.

I wouldn't argue. The honchos of the Catholic church have a lot to answer for. They have a disgraceful record of either ignoring or covering up the child abuse scandals. They fostered a culture that virtually institutionalized pedophilia.

Would it be hypocritical for a principle of a school to express concern for his students if one of his teachers got arrested for molesting a student? Just because he's head of an organization that has some criminals in it doesn't mean that he doesn't care about the welfare of kids--or sincerely want to promote their protection.

Ummm....people pray to, worship, & bow at the feet of the Pope. He thinks he is God. Isn't that scandalous enough? Don't get me started on the other stuff. The Catholic church gives Christians a bad name.
