hey hey..so here's the deal. I have a Sony DVD player right, and recently bought a DVD from Chi Town..so my DVD player says it CANNOT read..what can I do?Maybe the format is different? If so, what can I do?..any advice appreciated :)

The DVD playability depends upon two things, one is formats and the other is region specified. If it show as wrong region when you play the disc in the player, then you need to unlock it using the region unlock code.

Otherwise your disc must be recorded in formats like DVD-R which may not supported by your DVD player.

The dvd you've just bought maybe a cheap bootleg copy. Most dvd player won't be able to read it at all. Try taking the disc to stores and put it in some really cheap players to see if it can be play. Cheaper dvd players are very forgiving when reading dvd copies.
