I used to use advantage and it worked great until one of my cats had a reaction to it. Now I use frontline and we are totally flea free! Be careful only to get the stuff from your vet though, pet stores and feed stores sell knock offs or copies that are dangerous. My husband is a vet tech and they see cases every day of animals being poisoned by Top Spot, Zodiac, and even advantage that was not vet licensed.

I used Advantage on my two cats when we had a pretty bad flea infestation in the old apartment. Both cats becale flea-free in 6 hrs and stayed flea free for more than a month (on a single application). I did not have to repeat becuase we moved to a house that is thankfully flea-free.

revolution works very well on cats, it helps control fleas, ear mites, and heartworms. also though are frontline and advantage. you can get all of these products from your vet. some places that sell these products that are not from veterinary clinics can be handeled improperly and are not as effective, or could have been tampered with. be careful of flea products sold commercially from places like walmart, they may be labeled safe for cats, but some cats still will have a toxic reaction to them. any product with a pyrethrin can be lethal to a cat's system.

We have used three different flea products (Advantage, Frontline & Revolution). Revolution seems to work the best since it tackles other infestations in addition to fleas such as ear mites and heart worm. We buy our flea products through 1-800-PetMeds http://www.1800petmeds.com/

I use Frontline, but my cats are only indoor cats. But Frontline has worked the best for my cats.

Frontline Plus. It works very well. Bio Spot is supposed to be very good. Check out dog.com. They have a lot of flea products and are quite reasonable.

If you must.Use advantage or frontline..
I dont like using chemicals.Try washing your kitties in dawn dishsoap. The trick is to put it on them while they are dry and leave it sit for a few mins.It absorbs the oil on the fleas and suffocates them!
Then sprinkle 20 mule team borax on your carpet and matresses
Leave that sit for a few hours..Then vacuum up...
Also dont forget you need to wash all bedding and blankets they might have layed on..Otherwise they will come back to haunt you..no matter what you do!
Good luck!

I use Revolution and it works great for any creatures that bite and suck their blood. It doesn't work for tape worms though. So if you find little things that look like grains of rice on your cat's bottom or in their bed, they need tape worm meds. Revolution seems to take care of just about everything else.
Please don't wash your cat in dish detergent. That stuff is really bad for them.

Frontline does kill them. Spray the cat if he has flees, and after they're dead use the ampoules, they last a month. Careful they must not lick it!

Last time I took my dog to the vet they had a new one out called Advantx (not to be confused with advantage). It has worked very well.
