I have a family member who always has to be right about everything, but this time I want to prove him wrong. He said Hanakua started on the 19th of December & will last until the 26th. I say it started on the 15th of December & ended on the 22nd or 23rd. Could someone who is Jewish or knows for sure when it started & ended tell me who's right? Thanks

You are right. It started sunset of the 15th and continues until sunset of the 23rd.

It's different every year since the date isn't determined by our solar calendar, but by the lunar calendar used in Jewish tradition. If anyone asks you can always tell them that it begins on 25 Kislev and that should settle the debate.
