Which god are you referring to?
If it is God Almighty....as far as I know, God doesn't need anything. We worship God because we love God. And when we love God, we obey all His commands. And it is God's command to worship Him. I think it is His way of checking who is obeying Him and who is not.
And God said, "...you will worship God.... " (Exodus 3:11-13)
There are so many verses to quote in the Bible, help yourself...read on. BLESS GOD!

He doesn't need it but His Voice speaks to us saying He Loves us and we want to worship the Living God who has sent His Son to save us.

Some people worship Christmas Trees and material things but as for me and my house we worship God - because he deserves it.

why say 'he'? people worship god because they feel that a being so great should be worshipped. no, god does not need anything--god has it all. but people need to do something to show their love and devotion. as an atheist, i'm not of that ilk. . . thank god.

why because god is almighty and powerful and isnt a he its an it its my ps2 it has been kind to me helped me out entertained me blessed me it deserves my worship it commands my worship though many others praise the internet god but if they do not convert to believing in the ps2 god they will rott in ps2 hell while ill be in gamer heaven XD

No, he doesn't need it of course. Otherwise, he wouldn't be God if he needed anything from his creatures. The question is: How else would you react if you knew that He is the only one that has total control over everything: people, animals, climate, time, space and planets- everything.

I think it is weird to "worship" anything. It is best to get off your as*, or knees, quit listenning to someone talk about crazy stories from the bible, and actually DO SOMETHING to help people. I'm all about action. Less talk, more action.

He helps you to have faith, which releases stress and puts your mind at ease. God keeps you in line.

no, He doesn't need it, but why not tell the greatest being in the universe how wonderful He is? Don't you tell your parents how much you love them, or tell your friends how great they are? Why not mention it to the Creator?
