Really the only good way to stop smoking is to get some FRAZZLE SNAZZLE and have it every day for 3 weeks. That should really do it for you.

There are things to help you now - like the patch. Me? I quit cold turkey. Actually - I "stopped" about 4 or 5 times. One time I stopped for two years. The last time I QUIT - and that was about 11 years ago. It truly is about your will power. You have to want to quit MORE than you want to smoke. So - here's what I suggest. Pick a time and day that you will quit. I smoked LOTS of cigarettes the last day. I put away all of my ashtrays. Threw away any remaining cigarettes. Also - I decided that whenever I wanted a cigarette I would chew gum. I became very addicted to gum for about a year - but it wasn't harming my lungs - and it didn't stink - so it was okay. The building I was in had stairs - so whenever I wanted a cigarette I would make myself walk the stairs. There were days that were really hard. I started to gain weight - because a big substitute - of course - was food. I remember one day when I didn't want to smoke and I didn't want to eat. I sat on the couch and sucked my thumb and cried. I know it was pitiful - but it didn't cause cancer and there was no caloric intake!
Like I said - it's been 11 years now - and there are STILL times (only a few a year) when I want a cigarette. Nicotine is a HUGE addiction.
Good luck to you! If you want to e-mail me further - for more thoughts or encouragement or whatever - please feel free!!

I smoked for about 15 years and finally quit 2 1/2 years ago. Part of it was my then girlfreind, now wife. She's 12 years younger and I know that I want to be healthy or I won't be able to take care of her when I'm old.
I am also a nurse and have seen firsthand what happens to smokers,(especially men for some reason) when they get old. I watched an old guy breath concentrated oxygen from a mask with all of his will non-stop for 3 days, wide awake with a look of terror in his eyes because he knew if he stopped breathing so quickly and deeply he would die. Eventually, he couldn't stay awake and he died.
Then I saw the movie "The Insider" with Russel Crowe and Robert DeNiro. Cigarette executives are E-V-I-L. See it for yourself.

I've been smoking 19 years and I've tried quiting many times. I'm planning on seeing a doctor in January to help me quit with medication. I've tried EVERYTHING else. And yea, everyone in my family smoked too (started when i was 14). So how you quit? I don't know I'm obviously not the guy to know that. But I do know this, every year it just gets harder so quit now. Or you'll be going on 20 years someday too. Good luck!

It's very very simple, but you need to be very patient and strong-willed. What you need to do is simply never put a cigarette in your hand again. Stop buying them and stop hanging out with people who smoke. If you smoke a lot now, it's OK to gradually slow down to avoid feeling like crap for two weeks while you get used to not smoking. Kinda like caffeine withdrawal -- you don't just STOP unless you're prepared to deal with headaches.
Also, start a new hobby to occupy your hands so you won't feel like putting a cigarette in them. Like little puzzles or something. Good luck! It's really worth it!

Take up LSD. That stuff will burn a hole through your skull. New year's resolution? Hmmm. Good luck.
I have a friend who has been smoking like a chimney for 20yrs, and she stopped all of a sudden when she first tried patches. She could not believe how well they worked. Then she started again when she broke up with her boyfriend.
All the best.

Ok, it is YOU WHO want to stop. Stop blaming others in your family for smoking. Make up your mind. Just STOP. Period.
When they smoke, just get up and leave. Come back after 10 minutes. Everytime they do that, you do the same everytime.
All along, you should have stayed away from the weed. First week it tough. After that, you have crossed the hurdle and you are fine.
Good luck. I congratulate you for taking the first step, that is, you WANT to stop. Dont let it go until you HAVE to stop. Get my point?

I have known a couple of people who stopped after 1 session of hypnosis and never even had a craving afterward. Suck it up and tell your parents you smoke and that you need help to quit.
