I like the lights off so I can enjoy my sleep and distinguish when i sleep from night to day. It is very natural to have a better sleep in a dark room.
You can train yourself to sleep in a dark room.

It has been shown that sleeping with lights on, even just a nightlight, does not allow your body to get into the really deep REM sleep that it needs to recharge itself.

I prefer your choice. Bright lights are a distraction to me. But definitely I need some light in order to see all the cleveage.
