we got him at a shelter and we have no idea what breeds he is(okok, I have SOME ideas-I think he part Akita or Shiba). Can anyone take an educated guess to what breeds he is??
He weighs about 22-25 kg.

As for the tail, is really CONFUSES me!! It's short and stubby, as if someone docked it (I didn't do it!!) it may have been docked when he was a puppy but maybe it's naturally short

I used to breed dogs so I have a fairly good idea what he might be. I would say that he is definitely not part Akita or Shibas. Akitas have very heavy bone structure which I don't see in your dog. Both Akitas and shibas have broader faces and shorter muzzles.
I think that he is definitely a shepherd cross. That's his body build. As far as the coat and color he could have gotten that from a golden retriever or a siberian husky(they come in a cream color too.)

He looks like an American Eskimo x collie breed ( Border Collie or Australian Shep type).
He's too small for an Akita. and the face is round enough for a Shiba Inu or a Gindo. Also the coat looks more like a Border Collie's.
He is cute!
Thanks for adopting a shelter dog!

My vote is border collie x american eskimo mix. He looks a lot like an am. esk. with collie ears.
He's NOT an akita or shiba! That's a definate! We have a shiba and my husband wants an akita. Akita have a VERY large head! (they are VERY big dogs with a droop to their eyes) Shiba's also have distinct markings- even the creams (that's what our boy is) not so much on his chest (called urago -sp?) but they have "kisses" above their eyes. (that's what shiba people call it- the markings above their eyes)
Never the less, he's adorable!

He is not a pure bred German Shepherd, like an answerer claims. He could be a Shepherd crossed with something else like Chow or Akita. The upright ears seem to be a dominant in crosses.

He looks to me like he is part Siberian Husky, German Shepherd, and Akita.

He kind of looks like a corgi, but he is way to big. (25 kg is about 75 lbs right?)
