tIres have a PSI requirement set by the manufacturer and the PSI letters meaN ""POUNDS PER SQUARE INCH'' THAT IS THE AMOUNT OF AIR that you put into the tire for inflation to permit the best wear on the road..... there are some rating numbers that go to 500 and indicate wearability and there are also Letters that rate the wear life and traction of a tire....your friendly tire store dude will show and tell if you go to the tire store and ask ((go to the brand name store first and get the info that you need to buy good tires.....and remember to pay for and get new valve stems.... that is important .......

I get an annual PSA test since my Dad died of prostate cancer. I'd have no idea how that would relate to the logistics department of a tyre manufacturer.

PSA stands for pressure swing adsorption and is a form of gas generation. The process separates molecules of gas from each other. Compressed air is used to pressurize a vessel filled with a material, either carbon or zeolites, which sift molecules by physical attributes or structure. By forcing air into this pressure vessel sieve, N2 or O2 molecules are trapped in the sieve, while the other gas floats free. After a period of time, pressure is gradually released in the sieve bed to draw off the O2 or N2 molecules and collect them in a surge/storage tank for later use. Then, remaining pressure is released, forcing out the captured molecules of the unwanted gases and cleansing the sieve for the next cycle.
