The trailer for My Boys shows the star saying she hopes her first date restaurant is inexpensive so that she doesn't feel bad telling the guy it's their last date if she doesn't like him.

This got me to thinking that maybe we shouldn't act like we're made of money on the first date and we should keep it simple and inexpensive, low pressure all around.

Glenn D says you only get what you pay for.

Do you really decide to have sex based on how much a guy spends on a date?

He should keep them in between, not expensive but not too cheap either. We like it when he spend money on us. (ok that sounded a lot materialistic... I'M NOT MATERIALISTIC) The thing is that we want our guy to be able to spend some money for us. Not be a cheap person... Girls don't like that... not at all... so like i said, not too cheap but not too expensive either... that will be perfect...

Money can get you most of the wants, but it can also get you into trouble. I would say it's good teaching your son to keep his first date inexpensive. Making a date simple yet fun is really great and worth remembering without creating a sudden hole in one's pocket or wallet. Simplicity can catch attention. You can create a romantic mood even with simple things (and less expenses). All it takes is the creativity and the sense of humor. If your son knows how to start, handle and end a conversation real well, then I'm sure it'll be interesting chatting with him. No worries. Keep it real and don't cover it (the date) with money. It won't be a good idea, I swear. If people are only after your money, then they're not worth the effort. Teach your son the most needed things he must learn. Continue that 'cause it's a valuable lesson to carry on a better life. Okay then.

Your best bet is probably to continue what you are doing now. Also get into the Word more yourself so that as your son grows so also do you. Find a Bible teaching church in your area that suits you and start attending regularly. This will help you by allowing you to consult with other parents concerning difficulties that you run across. I don't envy you raising a child in today's world (mine are grown and my grandchildren are almost grown) but my elders said the same thing to me. If you start now and teach right from wrong and that there are consequences for poor decisions you won't go very far wrong. Prov 22:6 Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it. NIV

Ah, tis the center of mens nightmares. It really is expensive to do even a classic date, like dinner and movies. If the guy is paying, then it will easily be over $60 for the guy to pay for everything.

I applaud you for teaching your son that. Truly, the first date is to get to know the person, not to show the women how rich you are. That should be doable even with a fairly cheap date.

I wish him, and you the Best of Luck,

Happy Holidays,
Pyro

it's his first date, and he'll remember it for long long time. so making it memorable is good. and after that u can go on "inexpensice date". and if it's the 1st date for the girl he's going out with, then u should definetly let him do watever he wants cuz they'll both remember it.
