what the hells a mater with you? your supposed to shower every day, depressed or not. But no of course it wont harm your skin, in fact it probally didnt do any harm at all to the skin because it maintains its natural oils, you probally have a build up of dead skin cells though, but the body is self cleansing so I guess after a while it will clean itself but still shame on you.

Well, I don't know how long ago this was, but exfoliate and bathe. People here are saying that you need to shower/bathe everyday, and that's not true. Washing everyday washes away all of the oils your skin makes to keep it healthy. But you should at least wash every other day, it's just basic hygiene.
Unless you're like Jean-Paul Marat and lived in sewers and developed some gross skin disease where you basically have to live your life in a bathtub, that (extremely gross) part of your life shouldn't affect your skin now. You may have developed a skin condition if washing and moisturizing your skin doesn't help. But if it hasn't been a long time, I wouldn't be too worried. Just make up for what you lost now. And remember to bathe at least every other day!

You are lucky that you did not get some kind of skin infection.
Countless bacteria live on our skin, not to mention that it will actually contribute to your depression.
One of the best things you can do on a daily basis to keep from being overcome by depression are the habits of grooming that become so hard to attend to.
Bathe, brush your teeth & hair, moisturize, shave, etc..
Even if it's the last thing you do, nurturing your body this way brings life to the spirit as well.
Hope you got yourself a good counselor & are on top of it, whatever was/is the root of the depression.
God's blessings on you this Christmas, hope you are looking at a much better time ahead of you, do take care.

First of all I hope you are in a much better frame of mind. I know that being depressed is a horrible thing to go through. Please try to take care of your skin now. Bathe a least every other day, moisturize, and treat your body as if it where a temple. God Bless You and take care of yourself.
For the rest of you that answered with lame comments shame on you. Unless you have went through some type of depression you have no idea how horrible it can be.

ok i'm totally not going to be mean like a lot of those other comment cause you just said that it was a crazy state in your life.
as far as the condition of your skin its probably in better shape than most of ours. if you shower now(which i assume you so) just exfoliate 2 times a week to get rid of the dead skin cells.
now that you do shower you probably notice that your skin LOOKS smoother and has a natural shen like layer. thats due to the fact htat you locked in your natural oils.
so don't worry about your skin. it should be fine!(oh if you have acne that may have been a part of the cause)

Skin cells gets created and dies daily. Eventually you'll have new skin on your body that never underwent that horrible treatment. If you want to help the process. Exfoliate with a body wash scrub and a loofah. Moisturize the skin to protect it.
Good Luck

I think you should shower, bathing is kinda gross to me because youre soaking in your dead skin cells, but occasionally is fine if u just want to relax, and I always feel alot better after showering so if ur depressed maybe taking showers will help you be happier

I would think your skin would be healthy because you didn't dry it out with hot water every day. But you might have clogged pores from the dirt. But that can be easily resolved.

Was probably good for your skin (you didn't strip yourself of all of the natural oils like most people do) You will porbably look younger than all of us in the long run - (hope you atleast wash your private areas though!)
