STEP 3: Make sure the proposal reflects your personal style. Get on one knee and propose at the top of a mountain, during a romantic weekend or while you're on a tropical vacation.

STEP 4: Have Champagne and flowers waiting.

STEP 5: If your partner says yes, call the people that matter to let them know.

STEP 6: Be prepared to start talking about wedding plans immediately.

STEP 7: Don't be offended if your new fiancée is not taken with the ring you selected. She can choose another setting later if she desires. -

Make sure she has NO idea it's coming. Girls like surprises! Be sure your in a good location (not McDonald's). Get permission from her parents. Be CREATIVE and don't do the typical "go to a nice restaurant then purpose at the table" or something. Make sure you've got the ring with you, to slide on her left finger. Very Romantically!!! My husband sucked at his proposal....actually I don't even think there was a true proposal, we just sorta said "hey , are we ever gonna get married?" and then later on down the road we did. Best suggestion: Be creative, unique, and caring. No matter what you think..she'll remember this moment forever!!! Make it memorable...will ya....

My husband proposed to me, in the privacy of my bedroom (we were at my parent's house). He was sitting on the bed when I entered the room, and he asked me to sit down. I was afraid that he was going to end the relationship, thoughts were flooding through my mind about what I could've done wrong. Then he put a ringbox in my hands. I opened it.
