My Baby was born with congenital cataract on both eyes, operated in INDIA when she was 9 Months old.At that time she was diagnosed for 'Down Syndrom" but no treatment was offered. In 2003,she was diagnosed for having "Autism" by an Indian Neurologist, gave some medicine &fixed a date for next visit after 6 Month.I could not go because of Visa problem.Proper treatment is not available in my country as yet.My Nephew leaves in Canada. He asked me to go but i could not apply for Visa for many reasons. My baby, named Mariyum can't do anything herself & can't make understand others about her needs. She is incomplete in all respect for this Univers. She carries love for all without traces of malice in mind.If she is denied Visa, she is denied love from humanity. That is tantamount to gross injustice also.Ok,Visa is given to her-but what about her attendant? She needs an attendant & the attendant needs Visa too.The matter should be considered as a package.THESE PERSONS BELONG TO EVERYBODY IN THE WORLD.

I'm sorry to hear about your baby. You say you could not go because of visa problems? Hers, or yours?

Countries are free to make whatever laws they want regarding who (if anyone) can enter or leave their country.

That said, I would expect most countries to only discriminate on issues of CONTAGIOUS (could be spread to others) diseases, but not congential eye problems.

You said she got a visa, but the attendant couldn't? I'm guessing you were the attendant? If so, the issue isn't with your daughter, it's with you - so you need to either address it or find another attendant. It sounds like they're not discriminating against her, but are blocking you for some reason. Without knowing more, I couldn't suggest anything. I am sorry to hear you are having these troubles, and I know you want to help her, but either you need to fix your visa problem or get some other adult to go in your place.

Good luck.

Usually medical treatment visas require a guardian not guardian to accompany a sick person for treatment.you can find out from the Canadian embassy in your country.Your statement about your daughter inability to do some things for herself is verbal and most embassies do not accept verbal complains. The embassy may require a certified doctor's statement about your daughter's condition.Oh i see, you've already got the visa then why the delay.During visa processing, there's a column to fill for any person accompanying a minor (under 18) or a sick person. The embassy deliberate based on the health issue to grant the sick and the person accompanying her visas which is not guaranteed.
A sick boy in my home country,Ghana, with situation similar to your daughter's was denied visa for treatment in the US,even upon a Foreign Minister's intervention.Injustice goes on everywhere,i do not ignore your case as one but others suffer more in your situation.I hope you do the right thing and leave to help your daughter, waiting for the attendants visa puts her at risk.

Yes. Everyone needs a visa to travel from India to Canada. You and your baby are both a part of everyone.

Hasam doesn't matter if a child has a disability or what ever they still have to apply for a visa. Rules are rules. Even in the west this applys.

Have you pointed out this situation to the embassy? It's not like they can just read your mind. Just tell them about it.
