It's not really gonna matter. What matters is the here and now. What matters is that I can't MAKE myself believe. Having "proof" isn't good enough. It matters what is in your heart. I can SAY I believe all I want. I can go to church every time the doors are open. I can pray, ask for "forgiveness". But, if I can't make him real in heart, the end result will be the same as if I never did any of those things. So, I guess what I say is: "Oh, so you ARE real", and then I'll be escorted to hell.

Never. When I lost a family member I was already at a low point in my life and I really had to do some soul searching. My conclusion was, life as we now know it was not intended to be like this. The reason we die is because of sin (Adam and Eve). Jesus died to provided an opportunity for all humans to be restored to perfection as this was God's original purpose for all mankind. So if anything when we lose a loved one, instead of drawing away from God we should be determined to develop a closer relationship with him. At least this is what has helped me continue on.....

"Why did you provide no evidence of your existence, then? Not a single thing that was rational and absolute. You left the most important decision in the universe up to blind chance. Congradulations. You're an idiot. Don't get up, I know the way. You're not worth my time."
Even still, I won't need an excuse, I follow the Noahide laws fairly well, which is sufficient enough to earn the same reward the High Priest of the Temple will.

The bible isn't proof enough that Christianity is the one religion. There are many other religions that have THE holy book that should be revered above all others. How do you pick which one is the right one? What if Hinduism is the right religion? What would you, as a Christian say when you die and are judged by the true Hindu God?

I would agree that nature by itself is enough evidence (for me) to suggest some powerful being creating the universe, or at very least, some grand sentience to the universe as a whole.
However, it would NOT be enough evidence to validate any religion's version of God in particular. I don't feel the evidence of God in nature validates Christianity, for example.
If God asked why I rejected him, I'd be truthful, and say "I believe in you in a general sense, but did not know which religion (if any) portrayed you the most accurately."

At that point it will be too late and I'm sorry or any excuse wont cut it, because we have so many opportunities to see the truth, hear the truth, we have no excuse We all know this. we can say we don't believe in him or judgment. but that is like standing at the door of a plane 15,000 ft in the air without a parachute and saying I don't believe in gravity and then jumping. What we believe isn't going to stop God from judging us according to His law. His law is the end it is set in stone God is God no matter what we say we in all our infinite wisdom say we believe.

There is no reason that is good enough. There is one exception in my mind though. If an adult doesn't have the capacity to understand the full impact of not believing, then I don't feel that they will be held accountable. Such as, I have a nephew is almost an adult but he is a high functioning autistic. I do not believe that he will be held accountable for his actions.

G-d created the Universe in a way that it looks natural.
That way people have free will to chose what they want to believe and are not too compelled by one side or another.
He had a reason for this. If someone is slanted too much to one side and basically has the free will removed I do not think he will be judged harshly because of that.

This is basically another restatement of Pascal's Tired Wager. If you have rejected God what can you say? Unless you have complete faith in his acceptence of contrition there's really nothing you can say. I guess my suggestion would be to sing "Damned For All Time" from Jesus Christ Superstar. Maybe you could impress him.

The Bible says there are non righteous no not one. Without Faith in Christ we are all condemned to death. But because of Christ we are not condemned but have escaped from death and entered into life forever more. Good reason to believe! Huh!
You see our understanding is darkened by the fall of man. We understand it not. We must come to Christ for our understanding to be illuminated to the real truth. When you come to God your eyes will be opened so you can see. If you remain in darkness you will never see no matter how hard you try. Christ is the Light of the world. He turns the light on so we can see. You can't see without Christ in your life.
