My friend was telling me this story about how a visiting pastor at the church told the women they can't seem to keep a man because of their inadequacies. Also, he said that they run good men away because of they don't seem to know what to do with one when they get him. So, can anyone fathom a guess as to why the church's pastor allowed this man to insult the women at his church?

Why does this pastoral behavior surprise people. Pastors like that use God's Word to justify their stupidity all the time. It's called misogyny (hatred of women) and it has been prevalent throughout religious history for the most part. But truly enlightened pastors, and there are many of them, no longer treat women with disrespect. They understand the ancient Hebrew creation story and agree with the writers that woman was created last because she was the crowning jewel of God's creation because she sustaining human procreation.

I don't know why this pastor allowed another visiting pastor to speak to women of his church that way without correcting him letting him know that he had stepped over the bountaries . What he said was based on his opinion it was not factual, it sounds like he has issues, that didn't concern the ladies at that church. What did that have to do with anything? I don't understand how he came to that conclusion.

While everyone is entitled to their opinion in a free society, this type of opinion and this topic do not -in my opinion- belong behind the pulpit of a Christian church. The Word of God is what must be taught at Christian churches, and nothing else. If this pastor can show verses from The Holy Bible to support such teachings and to support that such meaningless, unspiritual topics are to be taught from the pulpit, I'd sure like to know what they are.

Your pastor cannot control another person's speech. Unless your congregation is sexist for some reasion as the norm, I would say talk with your pastor and let him know how insultive and denigrating the visiting one was. Being a pastor doesn't exclude one from being sexist. ;)

A pastor has NO right to insult people. There are many churches, so go find one.

If he was trying to let them know they weren't doing something right, then I don't think so. There is a time for rebuke and correction, and that may have been it. I wasn't there, so I can't judge on how he delivered that rebuke and whether his approach was a good one.

If they were talking from Scripture and righteous authority thats ok... and talking to teach about how to hold a relationship fine.

But if its just sheer judging, mocking, He will answer to G-d, as leaders are judged more harshly the Bible says.
