There is no indication what so ever that Jesus had long hair. The art work done of Him are just the artist's idea of what Jesus would have looked like. The Bible doesn't give a description of Jesus other then to say that there was nothing unusual about his appearance. However, the Bible tells us that it is a shame for a man to have long hair. It does not say that it is a sin however, only that it is a shame on to him. But even if it was a sin, churches are supposed to be there to help the sinner. I don't even know why your church exists if they don't want any sinners in there. They are self-ritious....they see your sin (which isn't even a sin) but not their own sins. (For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.) I would find a different church.
1Cr 11:14 Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?
1Cr 11:15 But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for [her] hair is given her for a covering.
The Bible also says that men and women are supposed to dress differently. People should not have to wonder if they are looking at a man or a woman......
Deu 22:5 ¶ The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so [are] abomination unto the LORD thy God.
I believe that God wants women to look like women and men to look like men and there should be no confusing the two.

Why are you so sure that Jesus had long hair, I mean were you there 2006 years ago to see this yourself? But I do understand why you might believe this to be the case, because Jesus drawings portray him that way with long hair but again who was alive then and still here to tell you this today?Read (1Corinthians11:14) which may show you why you are wrong that he had long hair because Jesus followed the Bible council which means that if he did in fact have long hair he would not have been following Bible council!

There is no evidence that Jesus had long hair. The custom of the day was for men to cut their hair very short. As time moved on, people began to paint pictures of Jesus and His disciples which mirrored the style of their day, not the Biblical fashions. This is why we have Mary as blonde haired and blue eyed, and why so many portraits of Jesus have the long hairstyles of the Renaissance period.
Biblically speaking, Jesus probably followed the dictum that it was shameful for a man to have long hair.

Never new a church that rejected someone for long hair. I see lots of long hair and jeans in church as well as shorts and short skirts.

I've never know anybody that was rejected for having long hair. Are you talking about the women also? How do we know that Jesus had long hair? Do you have a picture of him? That would be worth a pretty penny if you do.
Did you smell really bad, cause a fuss, steal from the collection plate or strike somebody?

You don't KNOW that Jesus had long hair. There aren't exactly too many photos of the man laying around! The famous pictures of Jesus were painted by Christian artists hundred of years after he died, and were based entirely on the artist's imagination of what he looked like. For all we know, he could have looked like a dark skinned Arab, or something. Probably makes more sense than a lilly-white caucasian.

I have never heard of anyone being rejected from church for having long hair.
I have heard of people being rejected in a church for having affairs, not following the church rules, drinking excessively or living blasphemous lifestyles.

What makes you think Jesus had long hair? The pictures we see are not Him. He said, "It is a shame for a man to have long hair." That settles it for me.
