They're not. Many are diests.

Friedrich Dürrenmatt once said, "Einstein used to speak of God so often that I almost looked upon him as a disguised theologian."

Einstein: Science can only be created by those who are thoroughly imbued with the aspiration toward truth and understanding. This source of feeling, however, springs from the sphere of religion. To this there also belongs the faith in the possibility that the regulations valid for the world of existence are rational, that is, comprehensible to reason. I cannot conceive of a genuine scientist without that profound faith. The situation may be expressed by an image: science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind.

Wide is the path to destruction and MANY there be that find it and narrow the path to Heaven and FEW there be that find it.

Common sense (baa humbug) they haven't got the brains that God gave a goose. When it comes to knowing their way it is better to be a goose. When it comes to holiday dinner it is better to be a scientist. I am glad that I am neither a goose nor a scientist. I am a child of the Heavenly King.

A scientist is a man and some of them are children of The Heavenly King, what does that tell You? Maybe like all bulls are not led by a rope tied to the ring in their noses, not ALL scientist are led around by the string theory tied to the rings of Saturn.

It tells me that intelligence and religiosity are inversly proportional.

In re the guy who said Einstien belived in god. Saying "god does not play dice" was a figure of speech used in rejecting quantam theory ( he didn't like it's random nature). About religion he specifically said:
"It was, of course, a lie what you read about my religious convictions, a lie which is being systematically repeated. I do not believe in a personal God and I have never denied this but have expressed it clearly. If something is in me which can be called religious then it is the unbounded admiration for the structure of the world so far as our science can reveal it." - Albert Einstein

Scientists are very excellent on studying physical matters.
Creationists are excellent on studying spiritual matters.
Both of groups better exchange information to discover the mysteries of life and of the immense universe.
Humanity are just entering the age of immaturity, we need much more learning to attain true knowledge for our advancement.

Common sense tells me that everyone is focusing on these made-up images of god, with some vehemently defending and believing in them and others rejecting them. What's left is to go beyond belief and non-belief and have a direct, non-dualistic experience that transcends perception, conception, and the very psychological self that is at the root of these mechanisms. It's not some weird thing and it will give an answer that is direct.

If the top scientists said that since your life is meaningless then you should just go jump off a building and die, what would common sense tell you to do?

And, whatever man, you can agree with whatever you want to, but quit getting onto us because we believe in something. Dang.

Last I checked it was higher than that, over 95% of board certified scientists are Atheist or Agnostic.

Edit to the person way below me:

Albert Einstein hated organized religion, and rules out the authenticity of any of them. While he was a spiritual person in his own way, he was an Agnostic.

It just means 1 thing. Wisdom comes from God, and not from Man. God blinds the eyes of those that don't seek after him. Intellegience does not help a man find the truth.

The more ignorant or illiterate a person is, the more fervently religious they are. The same can be said for entire societies.
