So there was a question I answered earlier about the FSM trinity, and the FSM is a parody. A joke. But instead of just having fun, all these Christian people had to pop in and start sprouting Bible quotes and other Christian stuff like it was a serious discussion. Why can't they just lighten up and have fun once in a while? Why does it always have to involve Bible quotes?

There's more to life people!

I love it. People are answering when they obviously have no idea what the FSM is. So it's being automatically assumed that the FSM is some huge bash against Christianity. Hilarious!

Oh, and I'm not talking about Muslims in my question. I'm talking about Christians this time around. Can we stay on topic please?

I don't know the answer, but here is a clean joke for you

.Moses, Jesus, and another guy were out playing golf one day.

Moses pulled up to the tee and drove a long one. It landed in the
fairway but rolled directly toward a water trap. Quickly Moses raised
his club, the water parted and it rolled to the other side, safe and sound.

Next, Jesus strolled up to the tee and hit a nice long one directly
toward the same water trap. It landed directly in the center of the pond
and kind of hovered over the water. Jesus casually walked out on the
pond and chipped it up onto the green.

The third guy got up and sort of randomly whacked the ball. It headed
out over the fence and into on-coming traffic on a nearby street. It
bounced off a truck and hit a nearby tree. From there it bounced onto
the roof of a nearby shack and rolled down into the gutter, down the
downspout, out onto the fairway and right toward the same pond. On the
way to the pond, it hit a little stone and bounced out o ver the water,
onto a lily pad where it rested quietly. Suddenly, a very large bullfrog
jumped up on the lily pad and snatched the ball into his mouth. Just
then, an eagle swooped down and grabbed the frog and flew away. As they
pass over the green, the frog squealed with fright and dropped the ball,
which bounced right into the hole for a beautiful hole in one.

Moses turned to Jesus and said, "I hate playing with your Dad.

umm i am a christian and we can take a joke but when people insult our beliefes we take it personally, some do and some dont, i am one of the people that can take a joke and laugh at jokes about people , except when it has someone pretending to be jesus or God, that is what makes me the maddest , you can make fun of me all day and i'll laugh along with you but when you start making fun of the one and only God, the one who created the world and sent his only son to die on the cross, ony to then be mocked, we take that seriously even though we know that you are just playing around, try to look at it this way, a bunch of teenage boys get together and go to a party and they are just having fun when they decide to rape some girl, does that make them innocent because they were having "fun" and werent being "serious" at the time, nope, thats kinda how we feel, people should respect God and Jesus, not publicly mock them, and since you obviously aren't a christian i would like to tell you that we do lighten up and we have a better life since we dont focus on the material things of the world, and we feel sorrow for you, cant you dumb and stupid people see that we are trying to keep you from spending an eternity in hell when we quote verses? and what do you do, you hate us for caring, and about the "there's more to life people" comment this life is merly a vapor compared to the eternal life you will live, and it all depends on the life you live in this world if you spend that eternity in heaven or hell,

Answer: *I* am Christian. *I* certainly believe that I can take a joke. Actually, I do read the FSM postings with a grin (and leaning back in the chair waiting for the next "I'm muslim and can't understand why..." post).

Yes, a LOT of the postings on Y!A need to be taken with humor and/or a HUGE grain of salt. Yes, you're right...there's time for serious AND time for humor.

Thanks for the post!

God bless you, and have a safe and happy Christmas.

I understand that most Imams and clerics of Islam have declared a holy jihad[Holy war] against the infidels of the world. And that by killing an infidel, which is a command to all Muslims, they are assured of a place in heaven, for killing a Non-believer of their faith. All followers of Allah have been commanded to kill everyone who is not of their faith so they can go to heaven. And you want to know why Christians can't take a joke.Let me assure you that the Christians will forgive you for your Joke,But I hope you don't run into some Muslims and joke about the Jihad or Allah because they are not forgiving as a Christian.

The thing is.. most people can't take a joke that is offensive to them. What if someone starts in on someone special to YOU?
I'm a pretty laid back person, but I give respect to everyone of every religion, and I would like some respect in return.
God bless you!!!

Why do you feel it necessary to joke about somebody's religion? Is it compensation for something lacking in your life that you need to pull somebody else down? You don't want people to crap on your head you need to know where the line is between fun and ridicule. I am not a fundamentalist Christian by any means, but I respect believers of all faiths.

A point well taken. There is no need to be so much on the defensive that you can't have a laugh. I was just reading in the Book of Habacookie chapter 21 verse 2 "And God said 'Yuk it up, guys!'." Amen, brother!!
