Dear Terence,
You don't explain where you are coming from when you assert that it isn't. I think you are way OFF track with that assertion.
I believe that the Bible from Genesis to Revelation is God's Words to mankind. It is really God's Instruction Manual to help us to know Him and how to live in this world.
B - asic
I - instructions
B - efore
L - eaving
E - arth
The first Bible that I read was The Daily Walk Bible. It is designed to be read over the course of 1 year. But I couldn't put it down and finished it the first time in 90 days.
Now I read a Bible from cover-to-cover each year and I learn more each time I read it. I didn't read it until my life was falling apart at the seams. I wish I had read it:
before I started dating
before I graduated from high school
before I went to college
before I married
before I had children -
but I didn't.
If you decide to read the Bible because you want to KNOW God then He is going to help you. He has promised and He cannot lie.
Edit: You have started with an assumption. The next step is to test that assumption to see whether or not you are starting in the right place. If you are not starting on the right track then take 3 steps back and try again.
If I say that 1 + 1 = 3. How do I know if I am on the right track? What are you going to say to me? That is what I am saying to you.

hmm well it sounds like you're already deciding the Bible isnt accurate but you do seem to believe in a "God".
I guess the question would be, if you know there is a God, why do you think the one book (probably the oldest compiled book in the world, and the only one where someone claims to actually be God) is wrong?
My guess is you've had a bad experience with some Christians or theyre interpretations of the Bible.
Id say the right track is to simply keep praying to God and asking for his guidance. Good luck dude.

Terence-Try reading the book Misquoting Jesus by Bart Ehrman. I think this may provide you with some very interesting data. Another interesting read is The Power of Myth by Joseph Campbell. I found both these books to be real eye openers. Perhaps they will help you on your journey to truth.

Study the bible with a sincere heart and God will lead you. You can just start with reading only a chapter a day and praying to God for help to understand the truth and your prayers should be offered the name of "Jesus Christ"... I hope and pray you'll find the truth and submit to it... God bless !!!

I'm sorry to say that in order to gain power man has molded the bible to what it is today, there is no way of knowing if there's stuff missing or added, what we do know is that the people who wrote it were spiritual persons and had the best of intentions. and in the end it's just a guide from the past to help us not make the same mistakes. hope this helps.

Who told you that the Bible is not the word of God?
Probably someone who has never studied the Bible, but listened to someone who has never studied the Bible.

(2Timothy 3:16) All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
