I know there is a very important religious holiday for Muslims these days. I would like to know if it has already started (if it has, could you tell me exactly when) or it is just to start (and if it is, when). When I say start, I mean the moment you stop going to your office, school, etc. I would also appreciate if you could tell me the name of the holiday in Arabic and when I am supposed to send an e-mail with greetings (I hope I am not too late). Thank you.

Muslims have a holiday this month called Eid Al-Adha. It is in remembrance of when Prophet Abraham(PBUH) was going to sacrafice his son for Allaah(GOD). Being that he slaughtered a sheep instead(told by Allaah), Mulsims also slaughter a sheep on this day. This holiday should fall on the 31st of December, because it all depends on the sighting of the moon.

it's called EID...It's when thousands of muslims go to Mecca to walk around the Kaba ( house of god) we also sacrifice an animal in the name of god. The main day is sunday the 31th. (this sunday) celebrations begin 10 days before. people start buying stuff and all but like christmas main day is the sunday.....since we live in USA we dont exactly get a day off for it yet. but hopefully in a couple of years it will be declared a holiday!
