Sigh.. I am pro-choice.
Edit: Oh, by the way-- People who say that only 1% or 2% of abortions are because of rape are wrong, not to mention stupid. The majority of rape cases go unreported, thus it is impossible to have an accurate percentage concerning the topic.

My opinion
I dont personally agree with abortion except in the following circuimstances, if a woman gets raped, if it will endanger the life of the woman to give birth to the child, or if it was an unplanned pregnancy and this was the first time the woman was getting an abortion. Other than those above reasons I feel that there is no other excuse to really get an abortion however I also believe it should be a woman's choice. I feel that those who constantly get knocked up repeatidly and dont care because they can just have an abortion are the ones I dont like. I also dont agree with the method the catholics use to deter people from getting it by showing people dead fetuses and stuff like that and I'm catholic myself.
EDIT: If the woman does not have a choice of getting pregnant because she is raped then she is well within her right to have an abortion because if the woman is in no condition to care for it then the child will be mistreated because she decided to have the child. And adoption is also hard because its extremely emotional to give the child you cared for 9 months away for good

The Catholic position is that abortion is AWAYS wrong, independent of whether incest or rape has occured. This is because Catholics and many other Christians believe that a human person is murdered during an abortion. The curcumstances and the situation surrounding the pregancy doesn't change the fact that a human being and person are 'removed' from this world without being given a chance at life.

I believe abortion is wrong.
Some people are "pro-choice". They put the most value on choice, even at the expense of a life. Others are "pro-life". They value life even at the expense of choice. I believe a life is the more important thing to preserve.
I believe abortion, the taking of an innocent life, is wrong. I also believe rape is wrong and I feel deeply for any who are victimized this way, but two wrongs don't make a right.
Some believe abortion is wrong, except in cases of rape, etc., but if abortion is wrong, another wrong doesn't make it right.
Situation ethics are not very sound beliefs.

Pro-abortion - ONLY because I do not want to be burdened raising their unwanted kids! Women far too often use abortion as a contraception for their irresponsible behavior! Someday men and women will grow-up and be responsible for their actions, and abortions will only be necessary in rapes or when the life of the mother is in danger.

I'm Catholic and am for abortion in rapes, incests, and molestation. But if to teens get knocked up because they didn't wear protection or the protection device failed it is there fault and nothing should be done about that. Being a Catholic and taking criticism for my belief on it by people saying 'you can always put it up for adoption' but i think that would take to much of an emotional toll on the mothers. Merry Xmas

I believe that it is the female's choice, especially if she was a victim of rape. She did not want the child--it was forced upon her. While I can understand the view of pro-life individuals, I am still inclined to say that many--not all, for I know there are many out there who would stick to their guns, so to speak, no matter the circumstances, which in my opinion is a good and honest thing to do--but there are many who, if they were raped and told they MUST have the child would be very angered. It should be the female's choice. And also--what if the developing baby showed signs of severe mental handicaps? Handicaps that the female knew she did not have the resources to help with? Would it be fair to either--mother or child--to force that situation upon them? I think not.

This has already been discussed.
If the woman got RAPED (note: the 'd') then, yes, she should by all means have the right to an abortion.

The Bible brings out in Psalm 127:3 Look! Sons are an inheritance from God; The fruitage of the belly is a reward.
If the woman is too traumatized by the rape and doesn't want to keep the child she can give the baby up for adaption.
(Exodus 21:22-25) . . .And in case men should struggle with each other and they really hurt a pregnant woman and her children do come out but no fatal accident occurs, he is to have damages imposed upon him without fail according to what the owner of the woman may lay upon him; and he must give it through the justices. But if a fatal accident should occur, then you must give soul for soul, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, branding for branding, wound for wound, blow for blow.
This scripture states the consequences for the lost of a child. If a child is aborted the offender will have to reply to God.
