Jesus was taken to the temple in Jerusalem for a Jewish religious ritual when he was 40 days old

Luke 2:22-24
Jesus Presented in the Temple
22 When the time of their purification according to the Law of Moses had been completed, Joseph and Mary took him to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord 23 (as it is written in the Law of the Lord, "Every first born male is to be consecrated to the Lord"), 24 and to offer a sacrifice in keeping with what is said in the Law of the Lord: "a pair of doves or two young pigeons." See - Leviticus 12.1-8

More Information:
Jesus
There were two rituals that were performed at the Temple:

1.The redemption of the first born Exodus 3:2, Numbers 8:17, Numbers 18:15-16 cost 5 shekels

2. The purification after child birth this was for the woman:
a pair of doves or two young pigeons were used by the poorer class and a lamb was used by the rich. see Leviticus 12:1-8; Exodus 13:2; Numbers18:15-16

That's no surprise to me I knew years ago that xmass has nothing to do with Jesus or his Father Jehovah!

Many would be surprised but the date that is said to be the birthday of Jesus was celebrated by Pagans centuries before the birth of Jesus Just check out the following link for more on this: http://www.nlbchapel.org/Christmass.htm

Jesus is the only real thing about Christmas , think again about the pagan thing . It really sounds unpleasant.

No, i don't and it's not like it's a bad thing. Christmas is not only about Jesus, it's about sharing love and joy, making memories, living life to its fullest and actually realizing it. Christmas is magical day, no matter who u think of, your kids, parents, someone you love, or Jesus. Just make shure you do somethng good, especially on Christmas, it will make a difference. I promise.

All the fun parts about the day are pagan.

You going to give up a reason to party because of that????? Good grief. You don't get it yet.

That is because Jesus has nothing to do with chrsmas. The bible does not support this day. The bible actually tells us not to celebrate this day and that it means NOTHING. Read Jerimiah 10 in the KJV.

This day was being celebrated long before Jesus was born.

Like anything else, you only get out of it what you put in. Make it more about Jesus, and you will feel closer to Jesus.

Got together with family. Read the Christmas story. Shared the love of God with brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. Felt the blessing of God's Holy Spirit, just as we prayed for at the beginning. "Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!" (II Corinthians 9:15)
