Sex is not just for fun. ONLY have sex with him if you are prepared to have his baby. You may be on birth control. But "accidents" happen and you may end up pregnant. Are you prepared for that and is he?
If you truly loves you he will wait.

I can understand why he hasn't said 'i love you' yet. You say he has been hurt before, and doesn't want it to happen again. I tend to find that guys who have been hurt really bad in previous relationships, tend to be more considerate and will worry about your feelings more. I would wait until you both said you loved each other to have sex, but make sure he doesn't just say it so he can get in your pants! Some people would even say wait until marriage! Just wait until you think the time is right, just try not to plan it. Try to let it happen on its own, and make i as special as possible. Who knows? Maybe he has something planned for the two of you. =) Good luck.

The decision to have sex should not be one of time waited but of respect and commitment shared.
Personally I would not have sex with anyone I was not ready to have children with. So, for me that also means a committed relationship and that means marriage.
At least that's my advice. The whole biz is just too risky. If you're ready to get pregnant and be a parent with this guy then I'd say you're ready.
I'm somebody's mother. I really feel when someone asks this question I have a certain responsibility to say to you what I would say to my son.
So there you have it honey. Maybe not realistic in some ways but, please just make it more than a question of time. It's a question of the quality of your relationship.

Only you can decide what is best for you and when the both of you are ready for sex. No matter how wonderful and good a relationship is, it is always at risk for someone having hurt feelings.....that is the nature of the beast. Even the very best of relationships have hurt feelings. If I were you, I would be concerned that he is comparing this relationship with his last.......

What does having sex have to do with getting hurt again. Christ! I will never understand why sex gets used as a test of faith. Sex is enjoyable. Have sex for cryin' out loud. Six months! Ridiculous!

I had a guy once wait for 11 months, we had sex, and he left. I think if both of you are ready, you should.

Sounds like a good guy. A normal prick would have left a long time ago, thinking that he wasn't going to score as soon as he wanted. Go for it. Not every guy is a jerk. (especially not this guy for sticking around (sexless) for half a year, that's DEDICATION!)
