It is the birth of our lord and savior, Mithras, who was born of a virgin woman and a pagan god . Shepherds attended his birth. His followers were reborn in a baptism of water and he traveled with twelve disciples. He was persecuted and crucified and rose from the dead three days later to ascend to the heavens.

"He who will not eat of my body, nor drink of my blood, so that he may be one with me and I with him, shall not be saved." Was inscribed in a temple to Mithras hundreds of years before Jesus was supposedly born

Dec 25 was chosen as Jesus' birthdate because it was the birthdate of other gods.

I think it's a pagan holiday in disguise much like a wolf in sheep's clothing . firstly it was adapted from the pagan celebration of solstice as I've been informed and it is on Julius Cesar's
birthday but a new source claims nimrod as the original birthday boy... as if you actually read anything more than the gospels as most Catholics are generally limited ... you would find clues of the messiah as being either in autumn or spring as evidenced by the flocks of grazing sheep described at that time not winter . So aside from the generic secular side of Christmas it is mostly based upon lies established by the early Catholic church transforming the pagans in collaboration with the roman empire's blessing and influential protection or rather permission.
Peace out ye deluded shall prove ignorance is bliss!

I think the true meaning of Christmas is it's meant to be a time of joy. A period of light in a dark, cold season. While many religious ceremonies predate Christianity in celebrating December, this seems to be a common thread in the celebrations of many of them.

Christmas is about giving and the celebration of Jesus's birthday

It is taken directly from the Pagan tradition of Winter Solstice, which was banned by the Protestant Church and brought back in the 18th century as Christmas. If there was a religious figure named Jesus, while his birthday is indeterminable, there is scriptural proof from Christianity itself that Jesus could not have been born in the winter.

Well it is to me but it has been many things to many people over the last several thousand years. I lot of people try to say that means that Jesus is not real. I don't think it matters at all when we celebrate his birthday. His message is what matters not what day he was born on.

love and blessings Don

Christmas is the universal celebration of the birth of Jesus, the Son of God. It is in this special day that all takes the moment to be reunited by merriment in sharing their blessings to their loved ones and to others...Remember that... It is in giving that we find more joys. We pray to God for forgiveness of our sins and we forgive others with their mistakes. It is a time of renewing good tidings to God and others. It is a great time when we experience to be born again in love and happiness -- the essence why we exist.

The true meaning of Christmas is that Jesus was born to die for our sins and to save all of mankind. If Jesus had stayed in the grave he would not have been the Messiah! Thank God he arose from the grave so that you and I could receive newness of life!
We are born and when we accept Jesus we die to sin and are resurrected into new life with Christ!
