I broke up with my boyfriend because he said that I was too opiniated and domineering. he he said that he was intmatedated because I mad emore money than him. I been hearing this from a lot of guys Black and non-black. How did men get so damn weak? It bothers me that they are so insecrue when they see a beautiful, smart, and aspiring young girl like myself making her way to college and life they want to pass and go for a girl who less imtimadating and easier to control. I don't understand. Why do men want to be with weak women who cook and clean for them all the time?

White women are just as bitchy as us and there are men who still date them.

It is a sign of the times for blacks in America. We had been silenced and second classed for so long and in many cases we are overwhelmed by how outspoken we are allowed to be. For black women is much different since it has only been the last 30 year or the 400 year history of the country that they have truly been allowed to make there mark.

All women continue to define themselves in this country, but black and other minority women still have the race hump that will always follow them unlike white women who "mostly" have to fight the gender batte.

Part of a black women's make up and personality is her ability to express herself after been put to the side for so long. Some of them take this new found independence to far. There is nothing wrong with being strong, independent, and sure of yourself, but part of knowing yourself and defining yourself is knowing your limits. I see too many women testing limits and going out of there way stop letting men be men. Not saying all men are worthy, but that is another subject all together.

Personally I could care less if a women makes more then me, what counts to me is how well we build our life together. Not every women is cut out to be a house wife or the board room, but there is still a large amount of men that are looking for a women that is similar to his mom that cooked, cleaned, etc... A good couple is measured by compatibility and not dollars and cents.

When I date women with more money then me, cool, but throw it in my face, I'll throw you out since chances are you didn't choose me for my money if you already have it.

Anyways, keep ya head up and you will find your strong man one day.

Yes all females can be bitchy. But in talking to black men they say that black women are too mean and controlling. I have also heard they are too loud and the men sometimes become embarrassed because black women don't care about actin all crazy at the wrong times and places. These are just a few things I've heard from some black men. In my opinion it would help to ask around in the black man population and find out what the deal is. I think no matter what you'll find a man who will love you for you. This last guy just wasn't the one. Keep lookin sweetheart you'll find your prince!!!

Listen I think that's BS because I see to many Black women dating the same type of guys and say there are too strong. THose guys are thugs and player types. Even if the sister is in the hood or college they still go after the same type of guys. I'm read to many books and heard this all before the same thing. "Tommy you're too nice and sweet and we should be "just friends" because I like these type of guys. you know more thuggish or gangsters. And if you sagged your pants or talked more harder then I'd like you" Not all sistas are like this but it's a a common thing that I don't understand. A brotha doesn't have to be a thug to be a real a blackman. BET and MTV are reppin' what all blackmen are truly are. We're doctors. laywers, teachers, professors, pastors, etc. Not the cookie cutter stereotype brothas you see on T.V. and in the hood with the five girlfriends and babymamas. I hope the you realize this because it's not a strong woman who gets men that tell them this all the time. " I make love to you baby I just be F&$king those other girls. I know I won't get best answer for this but I'm tired of reading Jet, Ebony, Vibe, and seeing books titled "Black men & Black women: What went wrong, or Are all the good Black men taken? By White women? Change the type of guys you date then you won't have these problems. There are real brotha out their give them a chance!

well you have to look at the history of black people. they were taught to feel inferior to white people and the black woman had to endure more pain throughout their lives. men were were stronger but the white man was intimidated and broke the black man down. black women had to put up with being raped and beaten and still work in the field and be the dang nanny/mammy. black women are used to standing on their own and because the hardships of our ancestors has been passed down to us, we refuse to let anyone make us feel less than. that's why we are so dang strong. as for black men, because they are used to the nurturing of their mothers, they have gotten soft but don't get it twisted, if you run into the right black man, you gon' see that rage come out. there are strong people and weak people in every race. hell i know a few white chicks who lost in a fight but for damn sure didn't go out like a punk . white chicks ain't like they used to be.

Maybe if you tried being more open to other peoples points of view and stopped trying to dominate people then you would have better luck. Why do you assume that all men want women to cook and clean for them? Have you ever tried being a quiet achiever too? Boasting is a big turn off for anyone. It is like chinese water torture.

There's a difference between "strong" and "bitchy", not to be rude (but I guess that was). Obviously if you have heard this from "a lot of guys" they arent seeing your persona as "opinionated and domineering", more like rude and demanding. Just take your intensity down a few notches, men haven't gotten weak, they just don't like "bitchy" women.

maybe you havent found the right guy. that sounds all good to me. just because they didnt click with you does not make them weak. we have things we look for in a girl and if you dont fit it then we end it.

It's the "bitchy" factor. Not the independent factor. White women are independent but don't come across in the way they act and make demands as "bitchy."
