Actually, your partly correct. All of Christendom (the World of Christianity-at-large) should be included in this, and all the other religions of the world. Yes, there is a "true religion" in amongst all those christian ones, but we won't go there, we're talking about Babylon the Great. So, all of the worlds false religions (all religions BUT ONE) and even God, a jealous God, would only allow one. After all, God requires worship HIS way. Wouldn't you?

So, sooner or later, according to Revelation chapter 17, the governments of the world (perhaps lead by the U.N.??) will TURN on organized religion and totally tear her apart, destroying her and taking all her worldly goods for themselves. Perhaps all this terrorism will be one of the keys to set off this extermination of religion, and make no mistake, it will be an extermination. The Kings and Rulers of the world will CRY OUT and the Merchants and those who did business with the Wh*re will be depressed because of all the business lost (according to the Bible). However, their weeping will not help, the destruction still comes.

Finally, when all the religions are tossed aside and divvied up, they turn on God's true religion, thus causing the 2nd coming, according to Revelation.

Even God says, "if I did not cut my time short on account of man, ALL LIFE WOULD BE LOST." So, before you think its bad now, just wait.

It has been considered to be Rome by some scholars. What is most significant about the great harlot is that it will be a one religion world view. That is why, right now, you see ecumenism so popular. Ecumenism is trying to get diverse religions to have dialogue and being able to join together on things they do believe. Eventually this will be a pre-cursor(to me) for the one religion world view.
