Satan told Eve that if she ate the apple that she would positively not die. Isnt that kinda the same thing with thinking that when we die we go to heaven?

No. Satan's lie was "on purpose." However, the lie that we all go to Heaven if we're "good" is one that's been passed down for almost 1,700 years, since around the Nicene Council. This is a lie of omission, that is, the truth is omitted when children are told "the facts." Even the parents, grand parents, back all those centuries were lied too, and when TOLD THE TRUTH, they chose the lie. Why? Because the truth made them uncomfortable. They're families didn't approve of their "new beliefs" so they willing would give them up to regain approval. Sad.

As the Scriptures say, "the soul that is sinning, it itself shall die."

Genesis 2:16-17 says: And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, "of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die." God told Adam not to eat the FRUIT (not apple) or else he would die. So when "the serpent said to the woman, 'you will not surely die.'", it told the first lie to the WOMAN. Adam didn't name her "Eve" until after God cursed the serpent, and assigned punishment to Adam and his wife for eating the forbidden fruit.

I wouldn't compare the deception and sin that took place in the garden of Eden to misunderstanding what one must do in order to go to heaven... John 3:16 says: "For God so loved the world that He sent His only begotten Son so that whoever believed in Him would not perish but have everlasting life." Romans 10:9 says: "if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." The point is this: you go to heaven when you die based on what you believed and said when you were alive.

In Titas 1:2, Paul says: "in hope of eternal life which God, who cannot lie, promised before time began." Points: 1) God cannot lie; 2) God promised eternal life; 3) If you don't believe in God, what hope do you have for your eternal after-life?

The first lie was "You shall surely not die, for God knows in the day you eat of it*, your eyes will be opened and you shall be like God, knowing good and evil"

*the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

Thus the first lie was actually to impugn and misrepresent the true character of God. This is still today Satan's most effective method. Only by believing in the cross of Christ is the power of the lie destroyed.

The first lie was Eve's.
God said:
"but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die."

But Eve said to Satan:
"but of the fruit of the tree which is in the middle of the garden, God has said, 'You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.'"

Now as usual, people seem to feel it necessary to add to God's word. God said nothing about touching it, but Eve added that to the things that God had said.

Then the serpant said to the woman, "You shall not surely die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil."

Some would say the serpant lied to Eve, but did he really?
Did Eve drop dead on the spot? No.
Did Adam drop dead once he bit of the fruit of the tree? No.
So they did not die physically, and Satan was not completely wrong.
Did they die a spiritual death? Many think they were separated from God the moment they ate of the fruit of the tree.

God came down to the garden and killed an animal as a blood sacrifice for their sin, and made tunics of the animal skin, and clothed them.

This has nothing to do with thinking we will go to heaven.

1Peter 3:8 says:
But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

This passage does not set a specific time reference of days and thousand years as you have assumed. What Peter meant is in God's realm there is no time, none whatsoever. God lives in a timeless space.
Time only occurs on earth, because of the sun and the moon.
They give us days and nights. God has no days or nights and lives outside the earth's system of time.
It is granted that when God deals with man, he has to step into time, but God has no time.
So Peter is saying that a day of our time could be any number in God's time.
Peter had no scripture or revelation to support what is said here.
This is strictly figurative.

your right, and something else that is interesting is that God told Adam that " in the day of his eating of the tree of knowledge he would positively die" came true. Adam lived to be 930 years of age and in 2 Peter 3; 8 it says that a day with God is as a thousand years.

God told Adam what the results would be if he did a certain actions. In this case the results would be the death of first his spirit and then later his body.

Satan told Eve that there would be no consequences for her action.

What does any of that have to do with heaven?

Yes, that is the lie, that she would not die, and that is the lie that is still working today in that people believe we have an immortal soul which we don't, but rather we are a soul and the soul dies. Ezekiel 18:4

The first lie was when God told Adam and Eve that if they ate from the tree of knowledge of good and evil that they would surely die. God implied that they would not die in that statement and that was a lie.

That is correct. Too bad the churches miss this point, but of course teaching the truth is very unprofitable. I am glad to see that God has opened your eyes to the truth also. We all go to hell upon death which is the grave, we sleep their until called upon for Resurrection and judgment.

The first lie was Satan saying to himself, "I don't need God"
