Have you dated most guys? NO? Then don't generalize.

Because it's in the nature of a man to be the Head. If a man is being controlling then he's not being the head. You were right when you stated that your not are property, but to some men that's all you are. At the same time you all put up with what you dish out.
So if he's controlling you then that means at some point you are allowing it to happen. And once you allowed it to happen then it doesn't stop until you make it stop.

Since caveman times the male of the species has traditionally been required to fill the role of the hunter/protector. This is naturally going to require the man to be of an aggressive nature. Over time with the man being having to be the more aggressive of the species he would naturally take the place as the dominate one in a relationship. So I think most men are hard wired to try and assume the dominate role. It just comes naturally to a man because of this, an can be hard to suppress sometimes. It least it is for me. Thank goodness my girlfriend likes a dominate man.
You seem to have a problem with that, yet if you were in the situation of being attacked by a knife wielding stranger, would you have a problem with your man stepping in to defend you? There is a good and bad side to every coin. Don't get me wrong I am not saying that some men don't take being dominate to far because they definitely do. If not we wouldn't have cases of abuse which is very wrong. I hope this helps you understand us men a bit more.

It's nature's way of putting women in line. All the woman has to do is to talk, love, take care of her man, and make him no. 1. In retun she will be treated like a queen and he would die for her.

Before doing this make sure that you've found the RIGHT GUY or are in a marriage. If you do this outside of marriage and leave him, that is like playing with fire.

Guys like to be protective of their other. However, sometimes it can cross the line. There is a diffrence between him caring and wanting whats best, and just being an controlling asshole. its up to you to decide.......and its not most guys

Lots of men like to be the protector, which can easily cross the line to controlling.
You just have to talk to them about where to draw the lines.

I don't know where you've been........but MOST guys have more respect for women. If you allow this to happen, then you are sincerely lacking in confidence and self esteem.

I think size might be a factor. It is just really difficult to take orders from someone smaller than yourself.
