Step one, contact your ex room mate and ask him to send you the title. Yes, I know you said you don't know where he is, but if you check with the post office perhaps he did a change of address and they could tell you. If not, ask your favorite police officer to run the license plate number and see what address it comes back to.
Step two. Look at Georgia laws regarding abandoned vehicles. There may be some way you can claim $XX.XX a day storage on the vehicle and get the title in lieu of being paid for that storage.
If all that seems a bit complicated, just call the local tow service and tell them you have an abandoned vehicle. They can probably tell you what to do since they do it all the time, or tow it away and at least get it out of your way.

Check with the DMV. You should be able to apply for the title as the vehicle was "abandoned." You can do this in Oregon and Washington, so I am sure it is ok in other states as well. The only downfall is that the owner is given a certain amount of time (usually 1-2 years) to claim their vehicle.

The only legal way is to find the actual owner of the vehicle and have them sign an affidavit of lost title. There is the possibility that he was not the legal owner as it may have had a bank lien on the title for money owed. If you cannot find him to get it straightened out easily, ask the DMV how to go about getting papers for it. I would not do as another here said regarding signing "for them" if they send the blank title. That is fraud and not worth the penalty. Good luck.

I don't know. You should check to see what you can do about an abandoned vehicle, since it was abandoned on private property. The agency responsible for issuing car titles is the Georgia Department of Revenue and here's the website:
http://motor.etax.dor.ga.gov/
They won't be open, of course, until Tuesday. Check with them to see what you can or can't do.

Storage Lein works in Georgia just like it does here in Texas. See the link below for what you have to do. Best wishes with the truck.

Apply for an abandoned title. Takes about 6 months -- at least in CA and TX.

I would call a lawyer or the county city building and see what they say. If you can't I would have it towed away.
