The older one is a female and I've had her for about two years. I just got a male kitten, and they fight when ever they see each other. Well, maybe I said that wrong. The female picks on the male, and stalks him, hisses and growls when he comes near or eats out of her food bowl. How can I help them get along?

Be patient and she'll probably get over it. She may even get to like the new kitten. But first she need to see that the newbie is no threat to her or to her status as queen of the household. He isn't a threat to her; a young male should defer to an adult female, so she'll figure that out after a while.

Meanwhile, make sure she doesn't get the idea that the kitten might displace her in the family or in your affections. Plenty of love and affection are in order. The kitten needs a lot of your attantion and affection, so you'll have to make an extra effort to be sure your older kitty has no reason to feel slighted.

If this is a new cat in the house, then you need to pick up a pamphlet from the vet or do a google search. Thee is allot involved. I hope when you leave your home you leave them so they are npot able to get to each other. Also, Do you have 2 cat food and 2 water bowls ?You should have 2 litter boxes too. They will share both of them. Watch that, one may try to stop the other from going in it and then you will have a kitty accident in the house somewhere else. Good Luck

Cats are a lot like people this way, you can't "make" them like each other. Usually though, cats in the same household -- even if they don't like each other -- come to an understanding and don't fight as much. Sometimes, their fighting actually becomes a game they play.

How long have you had the new cat? If it is a recent addition, it may just take time. Usually, once cats get used to each other, they learn to ignore each other.

my cats did that and i had the same problem, they should eventually get along and if they don't you'll have to get rid of the kitten i know it's sad but some relationships just aren't meant to be.

They just have to learn to live with one another.
Cats are very territorial and get jealous easily.
