I mean no disrespect, but at 14 years old, are you able to make a commitment to this dog for the entirety of its life - through college, moving out, boyfriends who may not like dogs, etc? It would be wise to absolutely ensure that your parents are on board with this, as they will probably end up taking care of your dog if you do move away to college. Also, on top of the 1000 dollars it would cost to buy a puppy, think of the thousands it will cost for food, equipment (leashes etc) vaccinations, wormings, spay/neuter, emergency "he-ate-a-fork" medical procedures he will need. A dog is a huge temporal, monetary, and emotional commitment!!!
I know you want a purebred, but I have to put in a plug for the homeless animals out there! Did you know that upwards of 3 million animals are put down each year for lack of homes? Imagine if every person who bought a puppy adopted a dog instead. You can make a difference in the life of a needy animal - consider petfinder.com.

Try a rescue if you want a pure bred. I go to the pound for all my pets - they are the best dogs!!! I would never buy from a breeder. I've had both and the best dogs are mixed breed from the local pound. It typically costs $0 - $50.

I think bull dogs are adorable too. BUT they have many health problems. Breed needs lots of work.
As I said I would like a Bull dog too But here's the thing. There are so many dogs in need of homes! I fyou buy form a breeder all you are doing is encouraging them to breed more. Very bad thing because there are not enough homes to go round as it is.
Go to the animal shelter. Start saving your money but go the shelter and look. you will see why I have not bought a bull dog and I preach against breeders of any type. Breeding pure bread dogs is hype an bunk. It is another money making scheme. So many adorable little faces in need of love and caring! Go look.

Try your local humane society or shelters in your area.
They may not be purebred (although some are!) but at least you're saving a life!
They cost a lot less too. You never know what kind of little fellow you'll find!

it all depends. there's the classified ads, where pretty much anybody who doesn't want one will sell one for really cheap. and then there's always those elderly couples that live on farms that keep dogs in chicken coops and ask hundreds of dollars for one puppy (if you were in my case). i'd say go to a pound or pet store for their prices or ask around some good and/or mutual friends to see if they know of anyone selling dogs at good prices.
