Back in the 70's you could get at a (now defunct) grocery store in the deli section. It was a cream cheese spread and sooo delicious. Does anyone know how to get started? Not afraid of making my own recipe but I don't know where to start.

I always make this on holidays.

AMARETTO CHEESE BALL

8 oz. cream cheese
1/4 c. Amaretto liqueur
1 (3 oz.) pkg. toasted, slivered almonds

Soften cheese and beat well with Amaretto. Form into a ball and stud with almonds in porcupine fashion. Chill. Serve with grapes, apples or pear wedges.

use almond extract. maybe some powdered sugar and vanilla to sweeten it if needed. i use half of a teaspoon to make 1lb of amaretto fudge, but cream cheese is not as strong of a flavor as chocolate.
