Possibly, but you'll have to do some research to know for sure. I know that my mom's maiden name is Hall and with all the genealogical research the family has done that particular name first appeared in the US when two brothers arrived with that last name. So, it is a given that anyone with that name who can trace back to one of the brothers is in some way related. However, it doesn't mean that everyone with that last name is. You must do your research just sharing the same last name is not a guarantee.
